Very Naughty Boy/A Bad Omen!?

I truely am an idiot!! Had my new Clio 172 for a few weeks now, and love her to pieces. Or did at least... until I had to take her the the bodyshop to be repaired after some idiot drove into the back of me(from stationary)!! This was last week btw!

So now... this week, im going about my business, being subjected to a crappy C4 hire car, missing my new baby when I get a lovely letter from the Lancashire Constablary. I've been caught doing 54mph in a 30mph zone, after coming off a bypass... obviously slightly to quick! This wouldn't be quite so much of a problem, 6pts on the license a slighty hefty fine and slap on the wrists maybe... however... I've only been driving for a year now, so am only aloud 6pts for my first 2 years. Anyone got any useful advice for me... or maybe an indication of what im likly to be facing?! :dapprove:

You will loose your license and have to redo your driving test i believe.

I think that is what you will get. Fingers crossed that they do not make you do your test again, after a ban.
The court can ban and order a compulsary re-test. Sorry.
Try and get on the driver retrain, which hopefully saves the ban, and teaches you to drive slower.

I'm hoping if I bend over far enough... they'll just give me 3 pts and be done with it, LOL!!! But seriously, if I am hit with a ban... how long are we talking... and how will I get driving again?! OMG... Then there's insurance!!! This car is defo a bad omen... but my baby... and I love her... boo hoo!!!

if you go to court you could be quite lucky, a friend of mine was also in his first year and got 5 points for 51 in a 30

yeah you will get a ban, how old are you? as you will struggle to get insurance for a 172 if you are young and have a ban under your name aswell.

6 points in the first two years equals instant loss of licence and have to re-sit both tests to get it back, and also a fat insurance premium when u do get it back LOL

Its not a ban, they revoke the license. I believe you can resit fairly quickly.

i had this?!!! best thing i can say is get a lawyers advice! might cost you but it will be better than the ballache! cos i didnt and they rinsed me in court

I've got a copy of magistrates guidelines and if u got to court you're lookin at 6 points or disqualification for up to 54 days.

You should get offered a fixed penalty of 3 points and £60 as you werent 30mph over the limit, thats when you get a court summons

No probs matey, also worth getting yourself a copy of the drivers survival handbook, it covers a lot of other stuff regarding traffic laws and how to deal with police at the roadside.

It costs £20 but its worth double that price imho
