  missmy257bhp r5/ got evo6
hi guys had my car on here for a week now with no replys

got loads of replys on pistonheads but time wasters

its a 2004 53 plate cup with only 27500 on th clock

taxed for 6 months mot till end dec

has 17s, viper kit, apex springs, remus exhaust, and a show roll cage if wanted

had it up for £6100 i thought that was giving it away but no replys:(

i have had 182s and 172s and this is by far the most fun

whats it really worth

how rude lol

cool cool yeah unless its a 182 it does not seem to sell had 2 182s now but still keep going back to the more fun faster 172 cup

Have you got the original Turinis? i.e. can you put it back to standard?

I got £6800 for mine last September (same age, mileage) and it was a pretty mint standard example with any mods thrown in alongside the original parts (Eibach Sportlines, Carbon Splitter, Strut Brace etc)

Finding a buyer for a Cup can be tough (they are quite specific things to want), finding a buyer for a modded one (on bigger wheels, no less) is always going to be a struggle imo.

Oh and I would say £6000 sounds about right if it's being sold as is without the original bits, the market for a Cup with big alloys has got to be pretty slim though.

I have raced many upto 60 they have a very slight edge then after 60 182 edges on um

my 172 cup seems a lot more raw power than my inferno cup did but cant be to much in them 172 cup is a more fun car with less to go wrong just would of liked abs so can live longer

  172 Cup
I bought a 53 plate with 45k miles but has Climate Control for £5100 does need all 4 alloys refurbing though but apart from that its good.

No one wants a car these days without AC. Put it up for an Ayrton and you might stir up some interest. Sorry but it's true. Clio prices are rock bottom. A modified 172Cup is not going to be on most peoples shopping list :(

course you have, dreamer

I'd think you'd be lucky to get much more than £5k at the moment despite all the cries of £6k, as that will be what 182's will be going for before the year is out I reckon

Mines already been valued at £6,400 (trade-in) so call that maybe £7,000 private. '05 54 plate 182Cup.

so if yours would fetch £7k a Cup wont get much over £5k. People will pay a £2k difference for ABS, aircon, leathers and spare wheel... plus the 17's, exhaust and pointless show cage will only drag the price of a Cup down. Back to standard is the best bet

it's amazing how quickly their value drops, Renault flooding the market with a face lift once a year doesn't help either lol

Well I'm never again 'saving money' by getting another new one for peanuts, but that's a different story...

What's the glasses style book price for the Cup, minus a grand for the mods because no one will want them...this sounds harsh but you (the OP) need to be realistic. I think most people over inflate the value of the Clio now. Prices really are dropping like a stone, and a modified car with no AC is not likely to be desirable to 90% of buyers. Go back to standard or adjust price to get a sale :)

unless of course it's my car... that's allowed not to have aircon :nono: lol

Well yeah because your car is a bit of an animal by all accounts.

A 172Cup is just a Clio with thin glass and no AC.

I've just had a look in the for sale sections and it does actually look quite nice, apart from the twin drain pipes hanging out the back ;) I definitely don't like the wheels but thats just personal taste. It would look better back on the turnins I think.

Ultimately, it's up for sale at £6,200, which is only £200 less than what I've been quoted trade (twice) for my standard, newer, 182Cup (albeit with 36k on the clock). I would try £5,995 (because it sounds better) to spark some interest and expect to be haggled down to £5,500.

If you do a search on the autotrader you will see around 3 pages of cups all under 6k in various states and miles.
I still think they are the best clio in the newer shape, out of 172,182 and all other variants of cup-abs and all that

agree, they are the best looking Mk2 imo and are much lighter (therefore quicker) so they get my vote... but the market to sell to is limited and with the 182, 197 and constant phase changes and updates they are now cheap and staying that way... they will be £3-4k by this time next year, just as the Ph1 is now.

  LY 200
^^^Yeah i agree to some extent but phase 1's are abit older and a fair bit more common than the Cup all the same. so i cant see them being priced as low at 3-4k, well not good ones anyway.

Id personally rather an ff, whether it be ph1/2 172 or 182 as few others would too so i agree the market is not as wide as the cars with the abs/climate/half leather etc.

there weren't that many Ph1's made just like the Cup and neither are exclusive and therefore desirable like a mint Williams would be as they have 'cult' status at best. It's like you say, people want toys these days, there's not many hard core drivers left that want a new car with no toys, those people would tend to buy an older more raw car than shell out on a newer one missing all the good bits.

Im currently looking to buy a cup, i looked at yours and instantly dismissed it because of the wheels and zorst, no offence just not my taste. Personally im not looking to pay more than 5.5k and that would have to be a complete minter with low miles, like its been said, prices are dropping fast so knowone will pay top dollar for something that may well loose 1k a year.
