Which engine mods for £1500 ?

  Peddled device
For a 182 Cup with a KTR Supersport exhaust fitted..which mods do you recommend with around £1.5k to spend ? I was looking at Dan's package of cam, matched inlet, remap and belts earlier....who's tried this and what did you think of it from standard? I'm guessing you'd get around a 12% increase in power with this done. How long does it take to be fitted ? Any other ideas?

No, I've never done any and have no plans to do so. The car is a daily driver, so i'd never take it on a track. To be honest I'm after some more oomph (aren't we all !) and have thought about a supercharger/turbo, but i'd never get my money back. I was just wondering if £1.5k spent is worth it, or should I just get a decent air filter and have it tuned. Its got 51k on the clock and last time it was tuned, at RS it put out 178bhp, which is about right.

If it's just your daily I wouldn't be spending that much on parts personally, unless you do a decent amount of miles a day and have decent roads during your journey's. If it's just round town on a daily basis, I wouldn't bother personally.

if you can get a second hand turbo setup been a few on here recently youd be very suprised how little if any money you will lose

Do it, spending money on my car makes me happy

Exhaust, panel filter, remap and camshaft set would see a fair increase although might come in slightly over budget.

no, he's on about the RS2 inlet (throttle bodies in a box sort of thing), being honest, leave it alone, suspension, drugs, women

Yeah I'd be holding out for a second hand RS2 to come up. Plus you can easily remove it to sell on and you wouldn't lose much money.

I'd not waste £1500 on mods for a car that's used for sitting in traffic on the M60.

Complete waste of money imho.

I hear what your saying. I think a decent tune at RS in Leeds and some good juice (for the car!) is probably best.

^^ this. Prob one of if not the best mods i did. £1500 is alot of money for not a huge amount of gains.

Try the k-tec induction kit and a remap i wouldnt do the cams unless your belts are due, other wise freshen your car up and save any left over money :)
