Who will be/is Buying a 200T

  200T
With so many haters on here, just how many other individuals out there because there are a lot of quiet ones too, are actually going to be buying the Clio 200T or even the Mk IV version?

It will be good to see some new shapes colours and what people will have no doubt done to them in the media section at some point.

Ordered mine yesterday for delivery September - personal choice like to get the max out of a new plate (they will be availble on the road from July according RUK)

I'll be going to test drive one when the demo is in my local dealership... I'll see how I feel about it.

I think the mk4 clio looks better in person than it does in photos that's for sure.

Are you buying outright or are you financing out of interest? Im just wondering what deals people were getting and what sort of incentives are being offered to help sales.

Part financing plus I got a very good price - if i had that much cash about the other half would be wanting to spend it on a wedding - its all about priorities and she keeps telling me I have mine all wrong maybe she's right but the car doesn't sit in a strop and not tell you why it's in a strop forcing you to guess why.

thats why I bought the 200 then proposed :) haha, I was thinking about test driving one but then I figured, I've never had a car I love as much as the 200, and I'll probably keep it for good, and buy a extra somewhere down the line. don't want to regret selling it

I'm in that boat. My 200 is such a perfect car all round (If you excuse the MPG it offers).

I often think of selling, but fear I would MASSIVLEY regret it.

quite good in all fairness.being a 3 cylinder it makes a right wierd noise but i guess that sthe characteristic of the 3 pot turbo.
the dci is a bit more refined but you get the impression it could do with another gear for longer journeys

I'll probably look at a used one in a few years.

Having kids and that the 5 door thing is better for me and if the mpg is reasonable then it could make a good daily.

I don't like the idea of finance. Ill get one when its under 10k.

Big change from the 200 etc, can't wait.

to be honest i think the new 200T lacks majorly compared to the 200 ... ooh it has a turbo ... Turbo lag! I hear no brembos or Recaros? Also looks no different to the standard car really? Not my cup of tea .. Each to there own though

You're not allowed to sell your Clio, now hush x.

I hear no brembos or Recaros?

From memory, the 197 didnt have Recaros from launch either, they were then added later on. No doubt they will be added in the 200 EDT LotusF1KimileavemealoneIknowwhatiamdoing edition in 2014.

No Brembo's, but does that really matter when the OEM brakes are reputedly AP's, ie just as good?

With a kid on the way I have been looking into the Clio 200 but after getting offered a new Focus ST estate for £18k I'm not that interested anymore.

Have you driven a modern turbo? I've got the new focus st and it has literally NO lag so that point is a bit moot tbh ;)

I am. Well I might. I'm not sure. Grrr.

The Fiesta ST financially makes a very strong argument for itself as an alternative..as in a £4k argument that I can't ignore. Reports seem to say it's a pretty tidy package. Only negatives for me are 3 doors. All else is on a par with or preferred over the 200T.

Argh.

172/182 never had Brembo's or Recaros either but still sold pretty well.

wait to drive them! Helps make the decision!

I'm not ruling out getting one as I change my mind every minute, but for the price of a well specced one I could get a pre-reg golf gti which I personally think is a better all round package. I still have my 182 which I have owned from new, and that is staying, so do I really want 2 x Renaultsports? Could think of worse cars to own!

If I didn't have to wait 6-7 weeks for the Clio to appear I would. Also, I'm not sure I can bear the pain of trying to get a test drive from my local alleged RS specialist that had absolutely no idea whatsoever that he could start selling them yesterday. Also, the thought of owning a car with a steering wheel that isn't guaranteed to melt appeals as well.

The more I think about it the more I talk myself out of a Clio.

Fcuk it. If my local Ford dealer makes even remotely the right noises I'm going to go for an ST.

Agree, also if youre using the gears right lag should never be too much of an issue anyway. Waiting on someone posting the 200 v 200T straight line video

Focus is a proper hoot mind, and I'm getting 28mpg in mine ATM. Can't be far off what a 200 gives you!?

fiesta is a good compromise thoug. If you can get over the 5 door then the fiesta wins IMO, ok not as fast but ill still be great to drive.

ohh and what can't you wait 2 months?

I miss my 200. It was killing me financially, as I was a student/then in part time work, but I loved it. I was tempted to buy another when I got this new job and keep the sunflower as a toy.

No - Fiesta ST or 208 GTi to look at.

In fact, 200T aint on any shortlist.

200T isnt for me, so i wont be getting one anytime soon. More likely a 250 meggy at the end of the year.

Not fussed about out and out pace...will certainly be fast enough to make progress on my commute. May well give a tenth or two away to the 200T but, umm, who cares?!

I think a Focus would be as economic as my 200, but a driving factor behind my change is wanting something that'll see nearer 50mpg rather than the 35-40 I get from my 200.

Why can't I wait? I could if I wanted to, but I don't want to. While I still have some reasonable value in my 200 I want rid of it and I want something new.

Fair enough. Fiesta is a good shout then. If you can deal without the extra doors.

the ecoboost engines are superb it has to be said, I was sceptical at first but having owned one theyve won me over big time

Lol @ turbo lag. This isn't the 90's
lol .. tell that to ford .. I work for them lot and I've not driven a ford with a turbo that actually works properly .. or doesn't have lag .. but then again i'll probably only see the ones with bother, although a kid here had a focus ST on a 58 plate and sold it after 5 weeks and bought his old golf gti back .....

My focus doesn't have any above 1500 rpm and having done over 1000 miles in it now I can safely say I'm never under 1500rpm so I fail to see where I would be effected by lag...
