Williams on throttle bodies Pics

  GDI Demo 182, Rsi Spider
Just finished a project car.

Williams Engined Valver with Jenvey ITB kit and Omex ECU and Race loom

Made 45 bhp more than std with Kent cams (not sure which profile as they were already in)

pulls very nicely above 5k revs, redline at 7000 rpm as the bottom end is quite worn (due a rebuild next yr)

Would have made more power as it was making peak power at redline....

  williams and trophy
lookin good mate.

wots with the bolts thru the rad tho??

mine had the injectors quite a bit further forward than std hole for em in the head. redline at 8 ish i think. the dodgy webber ecu was giving dodgy readout for the rev counter, was only reading 1/2 , had it to 4.5 but it didnt sound very willing lol.

uses std injector position

probably make more torque with some better atomising injectors

bolts are holding the race fan in place.

^^Mines got those plastic ones. How come the manifoldis really long, and the trumpets short? Where have you got the air temp sensor fitted on these?

 Behind the breather hose. I see now, lol.

Say I wanted to fit TB's to mine, what do I do about MAP sensor, does the TPS sensor take over?

Yep run TPS as primary load sensing. Idealy some sort of Barometric sensing is handy to take into account changes in air pressure and altitude although you can get away without it if you build a bit of 'room' into the calibration.

Cheers

So I'd just unplug the MAP hose form the Ecu (running VEMS standalone) and hook the TPS wiring up, and put the air temp sensor somewhere? Other than mapping, thats it, right?

Until the airbox is fitted..... then it obviously goes inside it..

also the breather pipe is just there until the gentleman concerned fits his catch tank.

Knew about the sensor going in the airbox! Toying with a set for mine.....

to change from MAP for load it would need a different map totally as the load values would be different.

M

mini-valver

I'd want a complete new map anyway to suit the ITB's. Just making sure I dont need anything massive changing on the wiring side of things....

  GDI Demo 182, Rsi Spider
should already have tps wiring, not sure how the vems works, but usually you can switch how the load sensing works..

M

Yeah I have TPS wiring there as the Mk1 172 TB uses it. No idea if you can switch the load sensing though. Guess I'll find out if and when I get some, lol.

  2005 Nissan Navara
Yeah you can on the VEMS, from speed density to alphaN.

I would ditch the VEMS personally in the process though...

Did you find the spec of the cams Andy? Probably has the part number stamped on the end of the exhst cam.
Sounds about bang on right for a "nice" set of cams, they typically make about 200bhp with them.

That rad looks a bit pikey being 'secured' like that. Would vibration not damage the cores?

well you cant see how its secured in the pics, so i am not sure what you mean..

if its the bolts you refer to, they are holding the Pacet fan in place.

Couldnt you have done something else? Looks a bit pikey bolted through crushing all the fins imo.

Sorry to rake this back up aswell, but isnt that a Renault 19 cylinder head? the little bolt head (thats been used to blank off the CTS hole) suggests so.

Not a full williams engine? fail ;)

It's in a valver anyway. And it's definitely a 2 litre head. Might be a 19 stat housing. Prima built it up years ago originally, I just rebuilt the head

if it made 45 more than standard then it would be 195bhp.

standard williams engine is 150bhp + 45bhp = 195bhp. hope people understand now!
good result.

Whos car isit? anyone we know? how much that lot cost?

  ITB'd MK1
not a regular off here :)

cost wasn't straightforward as it came in running on 3 and smoking REAL bad. We'll be calculating a kit costing some time soon though.

ahhh this is the one from williams clio that went in a long time ago isnt it, was going to get the at setup?

how much do you charge for the itb manifold
