Working with carbon fibre - simple mods

  Renault 5 GTE
I was wondering is it possible to make some simple carbon fibre details in home production?

I've seen some on http://www.racingcomposites.net/

There's a place nearby my town that sell marine equipment, and I've seen they have in stock carbon fibre and kevlar sheets, forgot the price tho, but I don't plan on making the roof or hood out of it...

I was thinking maybe some dash inserts, engine cover...just covering it with carbon so it looks decent...

Anyone done it, any good advices, neccesary tools/equipment?

No point in just covering it IMO, might aswell make a direct replacement, engine covers are available, and dash inserts should be available soon aswell ;)

ive made dash inserts and rear bumper strip from real carbon fibre, and used the real carbon sheet to create a few front badges. its not hard, just time consuming.

i would never recommend trying to cover the roof or anything like that without a proper vacuum former. if your serious about making some little bits than PM me
