Had this for around 6 months and got bored, was ok to drive but in standard form the handling was crap and found the car to be a bit of a disappointment. I think that honda should of called the ukdm ep3 the type s and the jdm type r should be the true type r. There just isnt anything that special about the car, it needs all the toys from the jdm version e.g. lsd, more power, recaros and the championship white paint that stays true to the type r form.

so next on the list was a civic type r ek9!

The car has been mapped by fusion Ed for those who know him he is arguable the best man in the England for these cars. The car produced 306 bhp and just over 300 ftlb of torque at 1.1 bar of boost.

My pulsar was monster quick as hell, handling was great 4 wheel drive is amazing for launches and putting power down. Scared alot of bikes and high end cars with this lets just put it that way! flame spitting beast :)

only sold the car because of the fuel holy s*$$ did it drink it! couldn't fault the car :)

Right now onto reason why i'm on here i was looking for a car that was fun to drive, faster than the ep3, less thirsty than the GTI-R, and newer than the lot. My best bud had a 200sx and was having simular issue as me with running costs so he went for a clio 182 cup in racing blue :) i fell in love with the car straight away couldnt get over the way it handled in the dry and rain! so much grip :)

so i knew what i wanted and after lots of research i decided to go for a clio 182 trophy

Nice selection of cars, bet the pulsar was a weapon!

Love the trophy been considering picking one up myself, bet it goes well with the RS2, circa 195-200bhp?

Thanks mate, yea she was a beast was putting around £300 a month in the tank!!

yea the trophy does go well mate defo recommend getting one :D

It made 184 on rs tunings dyno and I've been told by previous owner that rs tunings dyno figures are a little low and should be 190 on "a high reading dyno". I personally think that it's hard to know for sure as a lot of dynos seem to have different results, but I've been reading up about the intake and people are getting different hp figures and if you put 197 cams with the rs2 200bhp is possible :D

MY Tophy was almost the same spec not so long ago. Great allround spec!

Figures aside, how fast does the clio feel aginst say, the EP3?

Whiteline ARB and Eibach camber bolts will make it perfect FYI ;)

Thanks for comments guys :)

Mikey: haven't signed up yet but will do soon ;)

The clio feels a lot more balanced than the ep3, you can drive the trophy hard round corners in the wet and have full confidence in the car. The civic you never really feel you can push it as hard, and you do get a lot of under steer. To be fair to the civic the clio has the advantage of the dampers but hey the clio is the same price so it wins hands down!

update 16/06/2013:

Just had my dampers back from corning force had them re-furbed and powdercoated :)

IMG_1610.jpg

changed the scorpion exhaust for a yozza :)

IMG_1493.jpg

off with the scorpion

IMG_1494.jpg

yozza being fitted :)

Then i fitted brembo high carbon discs and ferodo pads on the front, then standard renault discs with epc pads on the rear.

next i needed to machine polish the car and for those interested i used:

dodo juice supernatural clay/born slippy
Dodo juice spin doctor
3m fast cut plus(green)
3m extra fine(yellow)
3m ulrafina(blue)
waxed with bouncers 22

How did you contact cornering force? I've phoned them several times with no answer, how longs the waiting list with them for dampers aswell?

Car looks spot on.

thanks for comments :)

looking good, what was the total price for the refurbish and respray?

The total cost was £420 for refurbish/powder-coating also with delivery back :)

cheers man :)
Simon is a very busy guy, try to call him towards the end of the day or maybe try a email?
I'm unsure of the waiting list but he managed to turn my dampers around in around 7-8 days, it would of been sooner but he had run out of stock of the seals.
Great guy to deal with highly recommed him

Really good looking T mate :) what's your opinion on your RS tuner remap? Is it worth getting?

As kangoo said custom map/rs2, it would be interesting to see what a stock 182 is like in comparison :)

love the pulsar! had two myself, would love to have another if it wasn't for rust/fuel /parts etc. Nice trophy btw
