Pretty sure I also have my original for lights you can have. I used the surrounds but the lights are in the garage I'm sure

Haven't updated this for a bit. I've changed location in my job so instead of doing 20miles commute each week I'm now doing 150 so the mileage will creep up more. It's currently on 85.5k and I've owned it for nearly a year and a half. I bought it on 76k so not bad mileage in my ownership for a daily.

Thanks for all the offers on the foglights guys but @dmallett sorted me out

Got some better 2nd hand door cards as my drivers was tired looking. I didn't change the passenger side as that was ok but swapped over the drivers side. Gave the door pulls a clean too.

So glad I painted these. They look great compared to when I first got them and they look as good now as when I first painted them over a year ago.

I have bought some brand new wheel bolts all round from @Martin. and some original orange side repeaters from Dan Mallet to replace my slightly mouldy clear ones. I'm also going to take it to the Surrey rolling road this Saturday to see if the power has changed. Although no engine mods have changed since the last power run, I have had all the belts done as well as the dephaser pulley, new plugs, 2x oil changes as well as various other engine service parts and a bit of milage. Car certainly feels better and feels to pick up better from lower down. Could be placebo though so I await Saturday to see for sure.

The car hasn't been cleaned properly for a few weeks and the front bumper fitment is really annoying me. I have been lazy I must admit so having another fault - my rear passenger fog light not working even though I've changed the bulb - I will hopefully get into it again soon. I have thought about getting rid of it recently for something more sensible, but you know what, all I do is give it a bit of fun through the lanes to/from work and it makes me want to keep it. I've put a lot of money, time and effort into this and a lot of parts have been changed/replaced in my ownership that I know I wouldn't get in another car for what it's worth so it's still staying on here with the Dr

Yes @DannyR, once I've got new ones fitted you can have the clear one if you want?

It was just an idea @dmallett but as I said I don't think I'd get a car that has had a lot of parts changed for the money that I'd get for mine. I don't want to put extra money in as we're saving so it's makes sense to keep the Clio knowing I've done all the bits to it and I know the car well.

I threw it in the skip on Sunday unfortunately @TheEvilGiraffe

Thank you [emoji4]

Yeah we should be there mate, I'll keep them in the car once they've been removed so I dont forget them.

Welcome back btw. Did look a clean car when I see it in Ben's ownership before jacks. You happy with it?

Awesome, thank you.

I never really left, just had a holiday from Clio's ;).

I've not had much time to play yet, handling didn't feel right. But I lowered it a touch more and adjusted the camber and handles a bit better. Also hard coming from such a heavy car, this is now so light to steer. Exhaust is off and sold and quieter one purchased.

So actually I've spent more time buying bits so far! Also traced the last four owners as to being on here!

So I'm answer to your question, I'm half happy, just needs my touch, and a Ph2 interior

Went to Surrey rolling road. Had a good day but was ruined by a horrible headache I had. Car made a little less power than last year but nothing to worry about.

Probably doesnt help that the filter hasn't been cleaned in a while either. Not to worry though as I shall be doing a DIY induction kit soon with a ITG filter and I shall drive it harder!

Also did a bulb change recently. Changed the side repeaters to original orange ones, removed silvervisions for orange indicator bulbs and removed my Osram nightbreakers unlimited for some MTEC white bulbs. Thanks @dmallett for the side repeaters. Although the MTEC bulbs perform better than the Osram nightbreakers, I still think the MTEC bulbs look a little yellow against my Cree sidelights so I'm going back to HID's. I have ordered some 4300k ones so the MTEC's will be up for grabs if anyone is interested.

I also recently sold my Sabelt steering wheel as I don't want to pay for a retrim and it's getting ruined as a daily so I bought a OMP 330mm GP wheel. Feels really nice and chunky and is the same size as my old Sabelt. I did contemplate the smaller 300mm trecento but I think it'll be a tad too small for a daily. I ordered it from rallynuts and it came within 2 days! Result as I had a spare fake sparco wheel which was rather bendy!

Have fitted the wheel but not got any pics yet. I've also bought some standard engine mounts as I'm removing the solid ones. Decided to get the kangoo engine mount as it was cheaper and slightly stiffer over the 1*2 ones. The solid ones are provisionally sold and with the change I shall be buy some new boot struts as mine are knackered!

I'm also going to raise the car up all round. Being a daily and doing longer miles means it shall be a bit more practical. Won't look as good but I can live with that. More soon hopefully.

I like the wheel, ive owned 2 or 3 of them lol. Uber small though

Is yours the trecento? Maybe I can have a grip of your leather when I next see you

I'm guessing that there is no difference from the trecento and the GP other than the size?

Was limited to tools as all mine are at work and struggled to remove the pin that goes through the gearbox mount. Seeing as the solid ones are provisionally sold I have ordered a genuine Renault pin which will be here tomorrow so will fit that with the mount and leave the bold pin in the old solid mount. Hopefully get it fitted Saturday.

I'm not a fan of the wheel :( doesn't look right with dash.

The mounts on the other hand I think I need to do, too stiff at the moment so hoping to sell all my uprated ones and buy standards with change.

Looks better in the flesh Danny. You'll see Saturday but I'm sure you've seen them before!

Exactly what I'm doing regarding the mounts. Kangoo mount cost me £25 and the gearbox mount cost £12. Lot cheaper than the £200+ I paid for the solid ones!

Put plenty of loctite on there and did it back up. Called @AlexW quickly to find out what grade oil it ran as internet here at work is rubbish. Filled it back up with new oil.

Will keep an eye on it but so far so good!

New gearbox mount pin turned up so hopefully get that fitted soon then DIY induction kit as the ph1 airbox is wedged in there which I don't like!

Knew you'd go back to HID's eventually.

What's all this about going raising the height and making all more comfortable. tut tut! lol. Man up

I use mine as a daily doing about 250 miles a week just to and from work, apex springs and solid mounts, 300mm wheel :p

Good updates as usual though mate :)

Jekyll

ClioSport Club Member
Haha! I'm still contemplating the 300mm wheel

And I did have second thoughts on the height once I left for work. looked at it and I thought it sits sweet. We shall see Saturday. May do it just a tad, as over certain bumps the drivesahfts knock the chassis. It is damping adjustable so I can always have it soft anyway.

Jekyll

ClioSport Club Member
It was 2 from softest setting. I raised the front up 2 full turns and wound the shocks down and added 10mm spring spacer. Doesn't look too bad actually. I took a before pic so I will get an after pic tomorrow once I've done gearbox mount.

Jekyll

ClioSport Club Member
After all that I lowered it again! 1.5 turns back down on the front and now a 5mm spring spacer on the rear. Ph1's look silly with an arch gap bigger than 4 fingers.

Have also ordered all the ingredients for a diy induction kit. I've gone for a ITG filter over the pipercross one I was contemplating.

Speaking of of contemplating, I've being thinking my 330mm GP wheel feels too big. It's the same size as my old sabelt and feels nice and chunky but feels larger so I put up a wanted/swap thread for the smaller 300mm trecento wheel. @Josh smith replied saying he had a new unused trecento and he wanted the larger GP wheel. A few PM's were exchange and today we are both happy wheel swappers. Will get a pic (naturally) but it's what I've got but 30mm smaller! Lol

Forgot to add: I also fitted my new standard gearbox mount too with the new pin. A lot easier when it's not in the dark, in the rain with a limited amount of tools!

I'm tempted to go for a smaller wheel too but i've drilled mine for the cruise control and no one is going to buy a wheel with 4 holes in it :( Unless I sell my loom with it!

Do you feel it's too big as well then?

It's strange because my sabelt felt fine. Perhaps the difference in materials or that I didn't want to touch the blue center on the sabelt makes it feel differently, I don't know. I'll shall drive it tomorrow and find out how this one is.

Is the sabelt 330? I always thought it felt small too

Yep the sabelt is 330mm.

My trecento feels a tad too small! Haha! Feels ok when driving but when manoeuvring it feels a tad too small. The ideal size would be 315mm/320mm. I've only seen MOMO ones in those sizes that I like but there too much money so I I'll stick this wheel....... For now!
