Feels like a lorry steering wheel, I know that much.

Just need to off load my mint one so I can buy a sabelt!

Yep the sabelt is 330mm.

My trecento feels a tad too small! Haha! Feels ok when driving but when manoeuvring it feels a tad too small. The ideal size would be 315mm/320mm. I've only seen MOMO ones in those sizes that I like but there too much money so I I'll stick this wheel....... For now!

Oh god don't say that!! Do you have a pic of it fitted please?

Sabelt is the best wheel for these. I just didnt want to pay for the cost of a refurb once the the wheel had gotten too worn.

Thank you very much for the comments  Haha there will always be something to mess about with! That half the fun/pain!

@dann2707 Her you go mate. Been driving it for nearly a week now and ive adjusted ok to it. As mentioned, it feels small when parking but driving it, it feels ok.

And how the engine currently looks

This will change as ive just ordered a ITG filter, 2x 90 degree bends, alloy joiner and breather filter to do a DIY induction kit as i miss my old Ktec one. Bring on the noise!

Cheers for the pic dude! Already had mine fitted a few days now though :p Went for leather as I found my hands kept slipping off the faux leather one but it's not actual proper leather like what I was expecting :S Well it sort of is and isn't, I expected it to be more grippy :(

It sounds exactly like my old ktec one which is what I wanted. Looks nearly identical too so it wouldn't surprise me if ktec used the same filter on there kits but had then ends black and ktec spray on!

Love the noise change at 5k.

That's a nice simple induction kit, I like it a lot. Would like to get one for mine, mainly for the noise factor! But can't really justify spending £100's on a kit, so a DIY one seems like a good option.

It isnt the same filter, ive sat them side by side lol. Only thing with the ITG's are the price!

@DannyR you will free up about £20 lol, though I do have a selection of hoses in my garage ;)

Thanks guys. I wanted it looking subtle so opted for the black hoses, plus i dont have any other big colours apart from black and silver on the car. I bought the ash pipes but didnt want the brand showing so i twisted it so it was plain black and kinda OEM looking.

@DannyR I dont think the price difference between this kit and the Ktec one will be large. The biggest cost is the filter. This one cost £40ish but you can get cheaper like the RamAir ones for £25. I contemplated the Pipercross C0171 filter (The ones that bolt onto the RS2 manifold) but opted for this one as i like the ITG brand and it looked like the ktec filter.

Breakdown of the kit:

Breather filter: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300685158785?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Ally joiner: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321660872627?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

ITG filter: http://www.camskill.co.uk/m35b51s3496p63333/_ITG_-_Maxogen_Air_Filter_-_JC60_67_

I had the jubilee clips at work so i didnt buy any of them. I think ive got some pipe also for the breather filter.

That's just under £80. You'll be able to sell you ktec one for £120+ so there's a bit to pocket but not much. I also used masking tape to the end off one of the pipes as a guide and used a 4" angle grinder for a clean cut rather than a blade or saw. The throttle body end needs to be cut shorter and at slight angle for it all to fit.

She's looking great! I was surprised when you got rid of the ktec I/k, I loved the noise it made.

Thanks Jamie.

Leaving yours for the trip home I loved it and for a few weeks after but seen as you gave me the original box I thought I'd sell it to free up a bit of spare cash. Since then I've missed the sound and wanted to do it again but without going second hand or buying new at a fair whack so what better option than to DIY induction kit with all new parts for £100+ less than the ktec and still have the same results!

Bad news.....

Bumper bodge bracket came loose again so now the bumper is held loosely. Im not going to keep bodging it, im just going to wait now and get a new wing later in the year/next year when i start to look at getting the bodywork fitted. More importantly.....

Was driving home (fairly hard as i pulled out of a junction onto a main A-road) was doing "X" amount of speed. Was in 4th and it felt like it lost a bit of power, changed to 5th and BANG! Lots of smoke! So i gradually slow down and pull over. Huge oil trail so i put the hazards on and lifted up the bonnet:

At this point im not far from work and i need to get it somewhere safe as the A-road is busy and at the tail end of rush hour so i got one of the blokes from work to get me in the flatbed truck. Father in law followed me up and took me home.

However with a quick call to @AlexW there is a good outcome. We know a mutual friend who has a Ph1 exclusive thats been rear ended and written off. The owner wanted to sell. Alex had done the belts/dephaser on it recently and it is almost on the same mileage as mine so between us, me and Alex have bought the car. Alex is going to be an absolute sweetheart and remove both engines and fit my new one for me  Of course i will offer a hand if he needs it but he works quicker/better alone! Top guy  So yeah, bad news but there will be a good result. Positive thinking and all that.

As it stands now untill its worked on.

Sh*t son!!!

Gutted for you buddy. However good news that you and Alex have found a doner car to keep it on the road! Do you know exactly what caused the bang?

Hopefully the new engine might have more power too ;)

Should of fitted ARP rod bolts.

I take it the new engine is coming out of Scotts car?

Ouch.!! Thats a sh1tty piece of luck there.
Good to see a plan in place to fix it.

Have you seen/heard of many f4rs doing this? How many rpm where you doing when that happened. Can you recall?

Thanks for the kind comments guys. I don't know exact what went wrong. I guess we won't fully know unroll the engine is removed and inspected.

All I know is that I've bought a doner Ph1 cheap. Very cheap infact. Me and Alex have sorted out a deal which works out fanatic for me and with the big service on the "new" engine being recent, it ticks all the boxes. Yeah I've had to shell out some money but what I'm getting back for the price, it's by far the best/cheapest option and works well for all 3 involved. I have also been told that the engine pulls well so that's a bonus and that it is on very similar mileage so that's another bonus!

Was around 6.5ish rpm from memory. Tbh I didn't look at the revs so I'm not 100% but it wasn't slow. Even still, I never drive it constantly hard and always wait for it to warm. In fact, people who know will know that I don't drive it hard at all so it's just pot luck, but hey ho.

@Phase1sr Yes I've bought Scott's.

Mine will happy rev to 7400. The new car will rev to 8k with 450bhp.

It was Alex that told me that. I haven't actually spoken to Scott yet! Tbh it's going to pull better than I have now! Lol

You've now got the boost bug! (eye) See what I did there ;)

This is where you went wrong ... always give it 110% death that way it's never surprised ! ;)

Man! Sorry to see that. I'm always worried that will happen to mine. Hope it's not too long til you're back on the road

oh no that sucks after you have looked after it so well :( at least you have found a new one for it though so not all bad!
iv seen a few clios do this now so maybe a commonish problem is there anything that can be done to prevent this?

If its thrown a rod then get a set of ARP rod bolts.
The Renault ones are made of chocolate.
