I forgot to say I was scratching the s**t out of this the other week when mine was down there...

😁

You need to put your good wheels back on!

Anything new on the T, Andy?
No real news to report at the moment, mate - a mixture of the pandemic, personal circumstances and Welsh restrictions not aligning with English restrictions mean that things have faltered a bit. Not in a bad way I hasten to add! The car is practically done and Mick has driven it a few times. I just need to buy a new exhaust for it along with a couple of minor items (brakes). Then it will be a case of matching the clocks to the cars mileage and booking in for an MOT. (y)

I'm sure I saw a lad on Facebook page with a yozza for sale yesterday. Bit too loud for you?

I think I’m going up country to deliver a car next week. Happy to collect for you on the way back if it goes ahead.

Legend, thank you mate. I'll keep you posted... :) Only thing is that there are also a few 'extras' with it. Basically a lot of the bits I bought for the turbo build that never got used. Pistons, conrods, gearbox with LSD, PAS conversion, new Sachs dampers, goodness knows what else mate. Loads of shizzle.

EDIT: Mind you, most of the stuff can simply be chucked into the boot or back of the car anyway. The engine block is not coming home, just the bits that were in it.

Your Trophy says Hi! Was down at Diamond motors having my cambelt etc done and this was taken by my transporter guy to confirm it had been delivered last Thursday. Picked my car up on Friday and had a nosey at yours but didn't know the back story, looked tidy.

Cheers for the pic mate! There's not much of a back story really... it's all a bit boring. :ROFLMAO: I was going to say I hope your car is ok after the cambelt but I know it will be given that Mick has done his stuff on it. (y)

Well I for one am excited for you Sharky and will be pleased to see some updates to this thread and hopefully a long trouble free period of enjoyment.
Thanks for the kind words mate. I'm looking forward to kicking this thread off again and providing a few pics and updates along the way. :)

January 2021 - Update

Ooft - I'm not sure how I should be feeling right now. I won't lie - I'm somewhat emotional. Which is quite embarrassing considering the fact that the source of those mixed emotions is a 15 year-old French car. It's a good day, though. Yes. Definitely.

It has been almost 7 years (and a whopping 9 miles) since the last MOT but, today, #165 passed with flying colours.

It's been a long time. It's been one heck of an emotional rollercoaster. It's been an absolute wallet-killer. And it has opened my eyes to the fact that there are some absolute tw*ts out there who can really let you down. Alas, finally, she will be coming home very soon indeed... TLC will be administered as and where necessary.

My eternal thanks go to Mick (Diamond Motors) for bringing her back. He's a top bloke, a great mechanic, and - somehow - still a friend. Amazing. He has the patience of a saint. Thanks to those who have also helped along the way with advice, sourcing parts, spannering, etc. Thank you.

More updates will be coming along soon I'm sure... ;)

Leave standard and use come rain, sun or snow, I'd love a trophy!

^ Yup - absolutely. It will become my daily. I don't care that I'm getting on a bit now and I don't care what my clients think! :ROFLMAO: It is 99% back to standard and will remain that way. Cheers!

Thank you, sir! (y) Appreciate the kind words and definitely looking forward to putting some fun-filled miles on her. All the best!

  Looking....
I remember seeing it down at dan*** in Glastonbury a few years ago in a very sorry state. Been following the thread for a while now and glad that you have some sort of closure? Enjoy it for what it is.

Yeah - it was in a very bad place whilst down there sadly. In every sense of the word. Thanks for keeping up with the thread mate, appreciate you ducking-in and taking time to have a nose through. I'll certainly be enjoying it as soon as the restrictions allow me to do so. It will make for a cool commuting car in the meantime! Cheers fella!

How do you not drive the car for 7 years?!

:ROFLMAO::unsure: Erm... you got me there. I don't know?

I don't know if you're new here?

But there is a thread on the car somewhere... 😜

:ROFLMAO::LOL: I'll try and dig the link out.

Awesome.

Not much more to say. Awesome.

Thank you Big Man! :) I can only echo those sentiments.

  A terrible one
Perseverance pays off. Really pleased it’s back on the road and will be with you again soon. Well done, the hope the reward of sticking with your little red car is worth it in spades.
