personally i would get a non cup 172, the AC is a god send at the moment and the ABS helps a lot in winter time. Performance wise there is little between the CUP and the FF. Things to lookout for are knackered exhausts and engine mounts.
IMO they are not that expensive to run, tyres are...
afraid its probably dead, if you can get it open (look on internet for battery replacement) and rinse it with demineralised water the you might be able to save it. dont know where you will get the demin water from thou
i had the same problem were my heater was stuck on full heat no matter where i set the temp.
the CC controls the temp by using a stepper motor to adjust the position of the flap you mentioned. Unfortunately on mine the socket on the flap that the stepper motor drives had broken. So the...
Why does it matter how many times it has been reflashed?? The insurance company cant refuse a payout just because an ecu has been reflashed several times.
What about updates from renault when it goes in for a service, some cars have not been serviced at renault and have missed these...
does anyone know the part number and price of the air distribution box (the thing the heater matrix is in) for a Ph2 clio 172. I dont need any of the electronic bits or heater matrix, just the box because the flap that controls the temp has broken and im sweating my b****cks off
Search the internet for how the mx5 is supercharged. These take forced induction really well and there are lots of guides out there.
I think getting the mechanical bits to work is the easy part. The hard part is getting the electronics that piggy back on the ECU to work well. Its not just...
ffs please can we stop arguing about how much better the cup is supposed to be. the 0-62 time is 6.9 seconds for the cup and 7.1 seconds for the FF, people quote 6.5 but that was what evo managed for a 0-60 not 0-62!!! 0.2 seconds is nothing when it is very easy to lose half a second on a...
i had the same problem, Renault diagnosed the fault to be the UCH (the box that controls the hazards) they replaced this which cost £400 and it did bugger all to solve the problem. They then replaced the switch and that didnt solve it. In the end i got so pissed off with the hazards going of...
Sounds like the exhaust emissions light came on, means that the lambda sensor is either dead or something on the injection side has gone wrong. It probably went into limp home mode to stop your car dumping fuel into the exhaust and destroying the cat.
Valver prices have hit rock bottom, the cheapest on autotrader is less than £600.
Williams on the other hand will always command a premium for standard good condition models as they were sold in limited numbers and are seen as classics.
172/182 values are falling but this is expected as it...
if you bought it from a garage take it back, if you didnt, buy a warranty sharpish. These cars have a tendancy to start breaking as soon as the warranty is up
i had my first mot done at renault, and surprisingly they found that a CV boot needed replacing which they did under warranty. so my advice is get the mot done at renault about 2 weeks before its due, so that any faults can be fixed under the warranty.
the 36k service is quite expensive as a...
