For cars first used after April 1985
Front sides - minimum 70% Visible light transmission
Front windscreen - minimum 75 % VLT
Many (if not most) windows are tinted to this limit at the factory.
To stay legal the front windscreen can only have a minimum 75% light transmission. Front sides can only have a minimum of 70% light transmission.
In alot of cases and especially on modern motors, the factory tint is already at these limits.
If you get caught with illegal tints you can have...
There was a report released the other week by (IIRC) the RAC about middle lane hoggers and the like.
They have worked out that if everyone followed correct lane discipline it would have the same effect as adding 700 miles of motorway to the UKs roads.
No points, but wasnt that old boy given a driving ban and a fine recently for alerting motorists to a speed trap even though he wasnt actually driving anything at the time?
Was there was another thread about this.
I have a few friends who are in variuos police forces and I have been lead to belive that the very latest laser speed guns are actually able to notify the operator if they are being actively jammed and do not just flash up an error message.
I narrowly escaped getting a ticket for exactly this reason. Id actually been parked without a ticket for about 30 mins, when I was walking back to the car I saw the warden tapping details into his handheld digital thing and told him Id just been to get change. He said that Id been gone for more...
Most motorcycle helmets these days are ACU gold approved. For road use (motorcycles) your helmet has to conform to:
Motorcycles (Protective Helmets) (Amendment) Regulations 2000 (Section 17 Road Traffic Act 1988).

Use a swirl remover like Meguiars scratch-x or 3M Swirl Mark Remover, or if the swirls and scratches are not too serious you could use a glaze/filler like 3M Imperial Hand Glaze to mask them. Follow with a good wax coat.
Wash and polish your car using only clean cloths, sponges and applicator...
Bit of a long story follows, here goes...
My work colleauge kept having his and his wifes car (whichever car they hadnt garaged that night) keyed, just a scratch at a time, over a period of time. It was pissing him off no end but he had no idea who was doing it. He suspected his neighbour...
Bad luck. Whos to blame? Well I think Renault, even the excuse about getting a V10 is lame (even if it was a possibility before xmas), and definately poor customer service. Id try for the curtesy car angle, but dont forget to try and claim for other costs that you may have to pay even though you...
