I cannot believe how much these dewalt green laser levels have gone up in price.

I got this exact kit for £220 in the middle of 2022 and my eyes watered at it.
It does 3d levels and saved my bacon multiple times so worth it in my eyes.

Now showing as £350 upwards. Mental.

Wow that's a right increase!

With me just being a diyer I don't use mine often, but when I have bloody hell it's been so f**king useful!

Used mine to do the tiling in the kitchen
Run the conduit outside the house level
Fit the living room mirror and oak beam for the fire

And probably a few other bits I've missed!

Because mines an aliexpress huaper special I do sometimes think the China man who built it may have been on his last day and completely fucked up the calibration for a laugh, not by an obvious amount, but just enough to make him smile when I realise it's out 5 years later 😂

Dont use mine regular either, its just handy to have. Plus at that price now seems a bargain.

The level flickers when its not level too, so handy feature, but the 3d was great when building the media wall.

I noticed mine was out recently when hanging frames, but turns out it was the cheap tripod that was causing it to go out. So need a new tripod now. Not got that yet. I do really fancy the laser pole. But the dewalt one at £120 is taking the piss.
It does look good

I got this one in the end, and it's spot on for the money. Having the ability to use the tripod of the floor to roof pole is mint

Which red grinder should I buy? I’m thinking I’d prefer a switch to a paddle. Anyone got experience with a paddle? Is it a ball ache having to hold it down?

No the paddle is great. I used a mates the other day with a flappy wheel when welding and genuinely wish by Makita had that.

I was dual wielding mine earlier as one had a cut disc the other had a flap disc and I was very grateful for the flappy flaps! They're really decent and now it feels mega uncomfortable using a switch to me

Thanks chaps. I guess it was just the situations where you’re holding it awkward for a tight gap, but I’ve got switch cable ones of needs be.

I do a lot of cutting with the grinder at 90*. They comfy for that too or just flappy disks?

Not new new as such, but ive been wanting a MIG since trying my father in laws

Ive been practising stick welding, but for what I will inevitably end up welding for, its just overkill. I also really struggled to make it 'look' decent - but I managed reasonable welds to be fair to me (I have 0 formal training).

Whilst ill in bed ill, I was browsing ebay (as you do) and thought id have a look. This one cropped up - short auction and no reserve. I did a quick bit of research and saw they were £375 on a deal new. I figured if I could get this under £100, id be onto a winner.

£62. BOSH!

Plenty of wire left and just need a bottle of gas. Whoop!

Everything, if you're doing a lot with it buy a decent sized battery
Ordered. Dpd guy ‘missed’ the warehouse loading bay and front door of work so it’s coming Monday now.

I’ve got quite a few 5ah so I don’t mind going through them.

Anyone got any codes for the usual milwaukee outlets atm?

I know there is 10% off Screwfix but their prices are already 10% higher.

I'd expect that to shake all the rust away from the land rover until it's just 4 tyres and a steering wheel left on the floor 😂
Yeah that may well be the case. We will have to see how it goes!
Wondered who'd be the first on here to get the Gen 3 High Torque.
I have used the 1/2” stubby for a few years and it’s really good and easy to use. But doesn’t have the guts for the big stuff. And I got sick of bashing my hand when bits give way/slip when using a ratchet/breaker bar.

Saw this coming up in US reviews and looking like the one. So treated myself.

See that's why you need the 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 and inch plus the ratchets

A week ago my big 12ah battery died

20240223_114537.jpg

It was under warranty luckily so I put in a request, weird one though. They just wanted me to peel the sticker from the bottom of the battery and send that off to them including proof of purchase

Apparently you're not allowed to ship the 12ah batteries unless they're in the original packaging

Either way. Nice free and new battery

They did the same when my dad sent his Ryobi multitool, just wanted the label and then sent a new tool out.

I think it's something to do with them not wanting to recycle the tools afterwards

There's a load of weird s**t for ESG reporting now where if you can say "we've only sent X tonnes to landfill" then the government will put you in a different bracket on certain schemes. It's all about carbon credits etc now, we've come across is due to the size of the company and the group were part of
