Sounds like you have a TAB fault (Tape Automated Boding, a manufacturing technique). Basically some contacts inside the panel are becoming un stuck, its possible applying pressure may make the lines go away. Google things like LCD TAB fault / lines / repair and you can decide if its worth...

Fair play thats a perfectly fine conclusion as it will feel heavier than a 900 odd KG Saxo. I had a Mk1 172 for 5 years, a 147GTA for four years and the 172 was more fun, but to say the 147GTA doesnt handle is IMHO not true.
