I dont know much about Clio 2s but arent the cup engines tested before they go in, so they are producing at least what they should be? If this is correct then there will be a fair few 172s that dont live up to their name, that if stripped to the same weight as the cup still may have trouble...
Best: Michelin Pilot Exalto, super grippy especially in the wet, expensive though.
Worst (from the point of view of the performance i was expecting out of them) Toyo Proxes
Yup roller bearing turbo is ready for fitting. As for starting from scratch, well i could have upgraded the first donor cars engine but i would have had to add at least £1500s worth of stuff to get it anywhere near the same spec as the donor im currently after, gives you an idea of the money...
16v clio - Ill be getting mine done as soon as I buy the right donor car, first one was ok, but not powerful enough so thats up for sale, fingers crossed should have the new donor by the end of next week (200bhp proven). Then i just need to sort out how to get my clio to Essex as the clutch has...
What about Optimax cleaning ur engine, not burning better, possibly freeing up lost power/responce from cleaning away varnish etc, hence people feeling a difference?
i caa do it in 2 and a half hours :D if you live near liverpool and still need the cable the Renault in St. Helens have one (Dutton James i think) id never pay that much for the pedal and cable, even if it took 3 days to fit myself.
yes, use a sealant, get plenty around the joints after you finish, then turn the engine on and put your hand near the joints before they get too hot so you can see if its blowing or not, Use more sealant as required (try not to get it on the nuts!)
Now it sounds an easy job, but dont let it...
New cable is on, but now pedal clicks all the time, do i need to buy a new full pedal assembly? How much? The old cable was about 1cm longer than the new one, not sure if that was the cause though.
is it a green plastic thing? i took that out it clicked a bit, i kept pumping the pedal but it wouldnt click anymore. So i put the plastic bit back in and no difference :( Ill try a new cable as well if Renault have one in stock.
On the way back to work from my dinner, i was slowing down for a roundabout, gears felt a bit notchy, i went round and got to the other side in neutral and couldnt get it into any gear. It wasnt a matter of itd crunch into gear, it just wasnt going in at all. The clutch pedal was fully down, no...
instead of one throttle body for the engine each cylinder gets its own. These replace the inlet manifold and bolt straight to the front of the block. So you get a lot of air more directly into the engine. So you get increased power and torque and a great sound.
If i get what you mean, the clutch pedal is fully down but doesnt feel like its engaged properly? If so its probably routed wrongly meaning it isnt moving the clutch far enough, but might be fixable without re-fitting. Try getting some thick rubber or plastic washers, cut a slit in them and...
If you can the Peak Performance 3 stage cleaners - oil, fuel and injector cleaner i think, id recommend that - 01625 820507, not sure where they are based. Worked good on mine :)
the 16v was good enough when i bought it, as it was a good step up from my RT. But i always wanted a 5 turbo, just i prefer the creature comforts and styling of the valver, now i can have best of both.
The rason why im sticking with the 16v is basically ive already spent too much money to...
