Lol, they missed the target by quite some margin IMO (apart from the colour). Shame, I now have nothing to lust after so I'll just need to keep my172 for a while yet.

I'm doing mine either today or tomorrow, too (depends how soon my fuzzy head clears after last night). I think there are five bolts and two screws: one bolt on either side under the wing/wheel arch, three bolts under the front of the car and two star screws (size 30 I think) on front - it should...
It was a lass in a black ph2 172. The car had an open IK and big bore exhaust. The dyno thing had a big fan blowing loads of air. The Clio made 162 horses and 145 torque. There was an RS Focus too, but the generator broke down before it could be measured.
All I really know is that changing the CAF pipes has made my car feel more responsive. It's now better to drive, but of course it hasn't turned my Clio into anything like a Ferrari.
Why not just get the standard mod package first and then see what you think - matched inlets, an ITG filter, some bigger air feeds, a SS exhaust and Grp N chip?
Just mod it! IMO, you can make any car feel how you want it to feel (with stiffer suspension, noisier exhaust and more responsive over the rev range).
But I know that everytime I see a Williams or 16v, I really want one (I had a Monaco Blue RSi with Momo's that looked really nice before...
I don't want mine hanging that low because where I live we get occasional flooding. I've kept mine quite high and I think they're just below the headlight or thereabouts.

I didn't bother fitting mine to the mount like that, the CAFs hang down behind the wheel arch on mine and seem to suck in all the air they need quite happily.

It took me a couple of hours to do because I faffed about quite a lot. I think it should take about an hour.
Just take off the air filter housing by unscrewing the jubillee clip on the throttle body housing, remove the rubber band holding the housing in place and pull off the two air feeds. You...
The main thing you need to know is that you shouldn't put water into the coolant system. As aboove, use coolant (it is sometimes called summer coolant or other odd names). You can buy type D coolant from German, Swedish, French (GSF) outlets - look in yellow pages and buy about 5 litres. Do a...
I was told this before and now I really believe it. If you've got a 172 ph 1, I suggest you try removing the two standard cold air feeds and replace them with much bigger cold air feeds (like on mine in the photo). I did this at the weekend and it seems like a much bigger power gain compared to...
I used the STP carb cleaner stuff in an aerosol. Mine's still sticky I reckon and you can see the wear round the butterfly (at least I think it is wear and not in the design). I also used carb cleaner on the idel control valve - it got lots of black stuff out but again I don't know if it did...
Sorry, don't know - but I don't like the look of that unbunded oil tank in the background!
Sorry, can't ever stop being at work (I work for the Environment Agency).

I know what a pain this problem is, but I think I've finally cured it on my 172 Mk1.
If you jack-up the front of the car on the drivers side and remove the wheel, then you can take off part of the wheel arch liner and you'll be able to see where the cable goes through the bulkhead to the...
Change both in my view. The rubber oval one just costs a couple of quid. I'd also buy a couple of spare screws (number 5 on the dialogys drawing) because they are not very strong - it's easy to over tighten them causing 'em to snap. If you're taking the throttle body off you need that gasket as...
