Re: FAO CS Mechy's - Is it possible for the rear caliper piston to come all the way o
Any idea what pads they were (just so I avoid them like the plague!). I thought that copper grease shouldn't be used on the sliders because it is slightly abrasive?
? The figures are widely available, look in either Evo or Autocar magazines M8 (and look out for tests they've carried out rather than what the manufacturer says, although it is sometimes misleading, e.g. if it was a wet day when the car was tested).
Ph1 is a second quicker to 60. Although...
I've tried looking it up on dialogys for you but I don't know the gearbox number so the search fails. I'd just ask Renault parts for a rubber grommit for the link into the gearbox. That should do it. Pretty sure they'll be standard across the range.
Anyone know where you can buy a new spring?
I keep cleaning mine, but bought a spare for the hell of it and it's all dismantled waiting for a new spring.
There is also a Sachs option for a tenner less. Is this any better or worse than Valeo?

I've always wanted an RS Ford. But the mkII FRS is too much like a Christmas tree IMO with its fake air duct (why did they do that, why FFS?). Still really liking the mk I. It also doesn't seem to be making the quoted bhp that Ford claims. But then again neither does a CS :rasp:. At least Fords...
The other suspension settings thread got me thinking. I have a ph1 172 fitted with 172 Cup shocks (but not the 172 Cup wheels with their different offsets) and 182 Cup springs. An alignment place checked that it's all straight, but can it be tweaked to make the turn in etc better?
Cliosport traders section: on there are traders who'll sell you the genuine part at reduced cost. Perhaps a you're not a member you won't be able to see that part of the site so...
Ktec, Yozzasport or Auto-Nation all should have them.
You need them with bearings and ABS rings fitted (as they...
I read that DS2500s should out last two or three pairs of discs. So I should be able to just refit the old pads and fit some new discs no problem? Is this right or is it new pads time - they've still got 50% left on em.
Yes, it was on a fairly short track giving it a real good blast and hanging just below the limiter to get the best speeds. It just shows what the mpg actually is when you're really going full out. It was a track that I knew well so no need to hold anything back and I was trying very hard to beat...
They do a kit consisting of 2 rubber mounts and 2 bearings - costs about £30 and fits fine (I fitted one two weeks ago). Agree though, ECP are not always the right choice (handbrake cables and throttle cables etc don't fit).
Twice now mainly due to my own stupidity. I was buying one mount from EuroCPs and the other from GSF (because each time they had just one in stock) - they turned out to be 4mm diff in length causing one side to stick up like a sticking up thing. Since found Euro sell them in a paired boxed set...
I paid £25 for a second hand vinyl one from a base spec model. It has the airbag and buttons for the horn all in the right places. The colour looks perfect against the dash, it feels much better (it's thicker) and it won't ever perish.
Probably. It isn't fitted to a new shock absorber. If you give me the details for your car to plug into Dialogys I'll check (e.g. CBOM, K006678 for fabrication number etc - it's all on the VIN).
