One of the bulbs in the window switch has stopped working. I've hit it and it still won't work :approve:
So I'm wondering 1. what type of bulb is it? and 2. What other bulbs aren't working any longer - is there supposed to be a light in the ashtray (it looks like there should), is there a...
I'll be interested to know if replacing the caliper has made a difference.
Mine's like it as well, a ph1 172. When I took the centre section of the exhaust shield off I could see that the adjuster isn't 100% straight and there is only one nut to tighten it. That's the reason why IMO. Although...
Sounds as though it's a gonner and you'll need a new one. I tried GSF etc and no one sold them. I think it is £55 from Reno, but I've asked for a trade price before and often got 10% off, it's worth a try! Also when fitting it the one I got seemed to be stuck, it revved at 5000 rpm. I had to...
Take out the door cards and electric windows too should save a bit - plus aircon to go.
MarkCup removed his carpet etc and he would be able to tell you what it weighed (I think he weighed everything that he removed).
I was with DL but they kept upping the excess without telling me, so watch out for that. In the end I got so fed up I switched to Norwich Union Direct. Comes to just over 400 quid with breakdown cover, NCB protection and a few other things I've never been bothered to waste the time reading TBH...
I agree. If you do all the std stuff (matched inlets, exhaust, remap and air filter) AND reduce weight it will be better, but not hugely IMO. How do Renault and other manufacturers get away with claiming their cars are 200 PS, 197, 182 and 172! False advertising or what?
I notice occasionally a sloshing noise which I thought was water in the sills. I had a good look tonight and it is definitely petrol sloshing about in my petrol tank. I thought the tanks are baffled to stop it happening. Is it possible for the baffles to collapse?
It's nine years old in Dec.
Cambelt and aux belt has been changed twice.
Engine oil is replaced every 5000-7000 miles (with good oil) and the gearbox oil every third engine oil change. Think I'll keep it then.
It's a Ph1 172 that's now covered 112,000 miles. Goes like poo off a wet shovel. I wonder how long it will go on for without something major beaking? The Gearbox and clutch are original and work just fine. So does the rest of the car including steering parts. Most of the suspension has been...
I've had matched inlets = no difference; SS exhaust = nice sound but no difference; SS brake lines and DS2500 = no difference; Eibach's and Cup shocks = a small difference; ITG air filter = it felt better; Green Cotton air filter = it too felt better but in a different part of the rev range...
Cheapest is the best option (take into account condition of existing engine, steering rack etc, e.g. how much is going to be useful and how much will need replacing so a Williams might mean more expense than a 172).
