Could be all sorts of reasons but the reason why the Trophy was so good was its handling and it was running 16's so that size cant be too detrimental
All depends what your gonna use your car for
Im running replacement 15's on my ph1 172. My reasons were i didnt want to mess up the...
GMS Motorsport Newton Stewart, AVA Glasgow, think they have a rolling road and Star Performance Fife or if you want to head a little south JDM dyno's Cumbria.
Anything between about 30 - 70 quid for a rolling road and a AFR check depending on where you go :)
Might as well just bin the manifold for all its worth.
Few years back i could have sold one i had for 80 quid but never bothered selling it.
Cats can be quite expensive. I ended a auction early to a bloke who offered me 50 quid which is pretty cheap.
They range from silly money to pence
Be patient and one will turn up for the right money
Its worth doing if your planning loads of other mods and plan to keep the car a while. If not, dont bother
Used silkolene in the past but see no justification in paying the extra for it as i only use the car for everyday use and quarter miles.
Mobil 1 0w - 40 does more than a perfect job and i get it cheap with my Halfords trade card
Another advantage of fitting a 182 manifold. Messing with zorsts / cat is all done under the car, no leaning in the engine bay at back breaking angles
Induction kits improve the flow of air over the standard set up.
The key thing is setting it up correctly, making sure the fueling is right if required, protecting against heat soak, the addition of a decent cold air feed.
Many people lump one on and expect to be running a extra 50 brake.
Might still be worth getting the alternator checked even if it has been replaced. I had a new one fitted and it faild a few weeks later.
If not, dodgy earth maybe ?
Some serious automotive talent out there. Countless mad Cosworth projects like this seem to crop up every month. Where on earth do they get the knownledge from ?
and....how many Cosworth engines are left !! must be getting in short supply now lol
Well yeah because youve carried out another breathing mod eg you shoving more air in so will need to shove more fuel in to get the best from it
Its not essential but ideally to get the best from it you should really
182 manifold is a big job. Hell of a lot more involved than a inlet
Not worth the effort. Brake kit upgrade would be a better option by the time youve messed about vs potential problems with doing this.
Brakes are good on the Sport models anyway. You only need to start thinking of upgrading if your doing loads of track days
Well when i first was in your position i got a Magnex full stainless exhaust system. It made no difference to performance what so ever and cost me 330 quid for the priviledge.
I then got a Pipercross Viper induction kit and it made a improved difference to acceleration.
But out those 2...
