Its only started playing up since it was remapped. It was running lean before it was mapped, very lean. I didnt even need any conformations of that as i was killing small children with the zorst fumes and was getting overtaken by small low powered cars. lol
It is the fueling or more to the...
Took it to a cruise forum rolling road day and it nearly had to be stopped it was running that lean. The guy who owned the RR was totally impartial because he knew nothing of my intent to go back and get the car set up at his garage.
Replacing injectors and fuel pumps is far cheaper than...
Long story but ive got a problem with the car stuttering when flooring it. The whole car kind of labours if i push the pedal down at any pace and just wont accelerate, hits a sort of wall.
The rolling road guy is pretty sure its a fueling problem but where not quite sure exactly what it is...
I bought a alloy bonnet and its in a different colour to my car so will need sanding down to bare metal.
Anyone got any advice on stripping the paint back and sanding etc ?
Cheers :)
As in this one edde??

Does this look any good as i 'might' be needing to uprate my fuel pump.

Anyone on here got a uprated fuel pump and if so what...
Loving that section of pipe from the Viper to the coldest part of the engine space, just beneath the battery.
Means the Viper isnt being restricted by fully connecting it up to the cold air feed plus gets the coldest air possible.
I had a idea of locating the whole Viper there but there...
Yeah thats Ryan's old car. Spoke to his dad when he used to own it and it had a K&N and a Superchip back then.
Hi Ian, ive got:
Head work, cams, inlet work, SMT6, 182 Manifold, lightend fly, modded Janspeed Decat, Viper, hybrid zorst etc etc
If your wanting the standard one welded up for the time being Annie the guy who's done welding work for me will do it.
Will only cost a few quid and he's a top bloke. Works all hours too.
But then you might say if you have a open IK you wont have this heat soak because there's no where to 'store' the heat plus when you fit a IK 9 out of 10 times you uprate the cold air feed anyway.
to me IK's are like marmite. Some people love them some people hate them.
Going by the 1...
Heat soak my arse !!
A engines as cold as a fridge at 50 odd mph !!
As for the old ''i fitted a IK and my cars all lumpy and runs crap''.....take it you never got it mapped then ??
IK's get bad press cos they dont get fitted right or the fueling sorted half the time!!
I did a search on this subject a while back. Sure someone fixed it by replacing the cable self adjusting gear.
Its on these very pages somewhere so have a look :)
Ive had a fair amount of work done at GDI. Had a few minor teething problems but thats just the sods law thing with me being at the other end of the country haha
Andy's back up service is second to non tho so can highly recommend him :)
Am i the only Scottish owner of a GDI modded ph1 172 ??
Got mine all done including the 182 mani, fitting, 182 cat (which couldnt be used) and welding of a cut down Janspeed decat all for £330
Helps when youve got mate's in the trade ;)
In theory its all pretty easy. Bolt the manifold up and weld a piece of pipe in from manifold to centre...
There the 2nd best thing you can fit after a maxogen imo.
Ideally and in some cases more than others a remap might be needed if a drop in power is noticed.
A more air in mod = more fuel needed to compliment the fitted mod/s :)
How can heat wrap make a difference when a engines already cold when traveling in a forward motion?? There's noting to cool down !!
Ive got heat wrap round my 182 manifold and on idle you'd be hard pressed to tell any difference!!
A engine only gets hot when sat idling.
Heat wrap...
Ive had my l/sensor connected, disconnected, the light omitted by Renault when it was in for a service and everytime its either stayed on or come back on.
Like Edde said, it will eventually come on, no question about it
