Cheers to all from the other side of the pond. I'm having a very strange issue with my 172. If I floor the accelerator pedal, in any gear, the car Hits a sort of limiter at 6000 revs. However, the car will go past 6000 all the way to 7km where the usual limiter is, if I dont give her full...
If you lived in Mexico you´d pay ten quid for a garage to solder a decat pipe in place of your cat. Like I did! You could use something like a cherrybomb glasspack as silenced decat pipe though. Although I didnt notice any sound difference with a decat.
I decatted my car last weekend (10 quid, god bless Mexico!) and was expecting noise, smells, raspiness and all the stuff everyone talks about here... except it didnt happen. The tiimbre of the exhaust noise changed, its a little bit growlier but that's about it. No emissions light either. And...
Thanks Dany. Sparkplugs.uk has a copper to iridium IX cross reference chart, so that takes care of the missing plug:
St copper BCPR6ES
Iridium IX BCPR6EIX
Hope to get the leads next week, then a couple of weeks to post my findings!
So.. I'be been searching the forum but found really no answer about how to decode the NGK part numbers. Basically I am trying to find out which plugs across the whole NGK range fit the 1*2. I'll be buying a set of each (copper and iridium IX, to begin with, car has the reno branded laser iridium...
hmmm. if the 172 has no real difference from the cup, then why is it that on every "which car" thread people always list the 172 cup over the 182 FF and cup, and the 172 non cup?
Hiya guys.. It turns out that here in mexico the 888 toyos (race tyres) can be had for the same price as the tr1s or the proxes. Well, maybe 10 quid extra per tyre. Right now my car is sitting on px4s (pretty good because it's always dry here, pretty bad in the uk i guess) but they wear pretty...
hahaha, im a dork! eibach sounds pretty german... but a lot of things in the states sounds pretty german as well! Now, please proceed to tape my mouth shut!
Hiya everyone. I thought you might find this interesting... or maybe everyone knew except me! Anyway, I was trying to get some sportline springs (the eibach factory is in california, my side of the pond). Much to my surprise, it turns out they have to be shipped from germany! Since sachs does...
Think it might be trickier than just that, gotta leave some clearance like the non sport version has.. I've already f'd the lower right underside (your driver's side, my passenger side). I can see some pulleys from underneath the car, so i take it that a small stone can do a lot of damage under...
so no body ever thought about a proper undertay for their clio? what's underneath the clio race car? yeah, the rally car must have some sort of skid guard, right?
Hiya fellas. So most of you have seen the metal undertay (or skid guard, like we call it in america) that the non RS clios have. Has anyone tried fitting that into the 1?2? Those plastic underbits look pretty flimsy, dont they?
Hi everyone. I've been searching around the forum and I can't seem to find the answer.
Anyway, does Sachs/Boge makes the oem shocks for the 172? I believe it was De Carbon who made the R5 and williams shocks, but then reno switched to Sachs/Boge on the 172?
I'm trying to get a hold of oem...
the cat converter´s output is water (amongst other stuff). If you remove the cat, there won´t be any more water on the exhaust unless your head gasket is f´d
I used mopar (chrysler) 75w90 on my gearbox (because it was the only synthetic that o could find). I'ts the numerical rating that matters, so you'll most likely be ok
Thanks for the answer. I've sent some emails to Henk (rstuner?) but it seems they are out of stock on the tuners!
I guess I could map the car myself.. Most mapping software is kinda universal, right? Just need to spend some time with the books to figure the engine out I guess!
Back on...
Hi everyone. Here's the thing.. Labour is very cheap in Mexico, as well as garret turbochargers, so I can get one fitted to my 172 for the equivalent on 500 quid, intercooler and all. Don't picture a ghetto setup (I know, for this price i would picture that if I were brit!), it's just that...
