    16v misfiring/stalling

Clean the tps (remember the position of the screws though), mine was filthy and was a bit hesitant, this seemed to sort it out. It may not be this, but it is an easy thing to eliminate. James

how can you tell if engine mounts broke

My valver was knocking quite badly, but when I looked at the mounts, they looked OK from on top. It wasnt until, I removed them from the car, that I could see how knackered they were, all of the rubber on the underneath of the mounts had cracked. Car has been fine since, apart from the pin on...

    Any1 used RSR Tyres

Bromley fitted a Powerflow centre section for me. It seemed alright until I hit a pothole ten mins down the road and then it rattled like crazy. I had to take it back the following weekend as they said that they couldnt fix it on that day!!!! James

    Strips on mk 1 bumpers

They are part of the construction of the bumper, the silver/grey strip in the middle of them comes out, but that is it. I suppose you could cut them down, firly flush and then fill them. Somebody did a photoshop on here quite a while ago, if I remember rightly it looked a bit odd. James

    Lumpy acceleration -16v

It might have been fairly low, cant really tell, the fuel guage is not very accurate! Ill try giving it some stick on the way home, if I can find a long enough gap in the traffic. James

    Lumpy acceleration -16v

I filled my car up last night, usual garage, usual grade of fuel. On my way into work this morning, the car was accelerating a bit lumpy (for want of a better word!), it felt as if there was fuel starvation. The car has not done this before and I am thinking that it may be a bit of bad...

    Engine mounts & power steering

No knocking at idle, it was mainly when I was going around corners. The other mounts are fairly easy, the only trouble I had was getting the LH one off, as it was a bit stuff, but a hammer soon sorted that out. I used standard Renault ones, because AFAIK you cannot get hold of uprated ones...
