Where did you read that??
The engines are identical, so in theory there should be no difference. In practice, engines manufactured by those such as Renault and Peugeot can vary quite a lot in terms of output (not by as much as 10bhp though).
There are many stories of under/overpowered...
Yeah, when my car had black wheels I blacked-over the 16v side badges and got some Renault badges to go in the centre caps with a custom carbon surround. This is how it used to look:

Valver - if you get the numbers out the back of Max Power then no wonder you get high rates! Just image it:
"...so sir, where did you see our advert?...ahhh...Max Power you say...well youre quote is £100000000000x10"
"....ahhh...Country Living...well your quote is £10"
Me too - thats why I go home for a drive! Went out on that dual carriageway near Loftys place today and it was the best Bristol has to offer, but is still total cack compared to Wales. Come over a few hours early on the day of the Wales meet...
Hmmm...like I say, Ill have dosh in about a month, but then none after that until I get into a job later in the year! I could just try discs/pads first - much cheaper!
I used to play footie up there! (team was called Ladyboy Locomotive - we were in the 4th Division of the Bristol University Intramural League: dont get much better than that!).
If you kicked the ball too hard then it was game over as it would go straight down the Avon Gorge!
My 16v came with black wheels - in fact the same ones. Im afraid that I ditched them after a while as I prefer the original, sleuth tuned look as a car gets older. You didnt once upon a time have a black 16v with leather and those wheels did you??
Took to the road in this afternoons sunshine! Not many decent roads in Bristol, but there is a 10-mile long quiet dual carriageway with loads of rounabouts for the driviers entertainment.
First up was an red F-plate 911. No idea of the spec - just saw him in the rear mirror. I blasted...
Hes got plans, but I seriously dont think hell be able to keep up for a while! Even if he gives me hassle in a straight line, Ive had a two year head start to get used to making the most of the car - and mines tuned!
You coming to the meet on 30th March?
I actually think that once youre actually out there in the real world that 0-60 in anything below 10 secs is quick. OK, so a car that does it in 6secs is probably a lot quicker than one that does it in 10 secs, but its all relative and there arent many cars sold that do it in less than 10 secs...
When SmoothedClio (aka Pete) had his RT, I saw him chase and stick like glue to a white VTR with a chip, induction, zorst etc with no sweat. I posted to say so at the time!
The VTR was his mates and had over 20k miles on the clock. But then if it was a 90bhp VTR then its not all that...
Had to be Pearlescent Black or Xerus Grey for my 16v when I was looking - luckilly I found a black one with leather too!
There arent any dud colours on the 16v - and MatBrowns cherry red one changed my mind about flat reds...
Glad to see you did voice your opinions Ben! Its good to have the opinion of someone who has both cars as although loads of people are enlightened to the Valvers capabilities, many still arent!
That last picture was taken in the pitch black with the "night" function on!
BenRs car came with the ecotek and IK already fitted. He has an excuse for the time being!
