not sure on if it could be the cause, though I would imagine it's possible it could be. Sound like a hell of a lot of money though and I would definately be taking it elsewhere, also I would be going down to check over that the car won't drive as it sounds a bit suspicious when it was driving...
common problem, it does seem that usually it's just that they haven't been fitted properly. I've never had to change one though so couldn't tell you how to route it properly.
RT box will fit, there will be a slight gap between the bottom of the box and the sump but nothing to worry about as there are a few running RT boxes with no problems. This was being discussed on another forum recently and it seems the RT box might even be a bit stronger than a valver box...
^^^ not necessarily. It obviously won't be as good as the full kit but standard springs will do the job if your on a budget or if your not lowering it all that much.
Is yours a Mk1 or a Mk2?
If it's a Mk1 you lower the rear by adjusting the torsion bar, if it's a Mk2 then you will get...
also, could someone please help me with which of the PDAs (N30 or X5) would be best as I'm watching a couple on ebay which end soon and am not sure which to go for, so really need some advice asap.
Thank.s
thing is though that I really need to do it on as much of a budget as possible. From looking around it seems the best way to get one that operates reasonably well as cheap as possible would be to go with the PDA option as I can get one with a GPS receiver for about £80 I think.
Is it possible...
Some of you might have seen my post about sat nav units the other day where I went with a tomtom one. That, however, was for my old mans christmas present and I now really want to get one myself. I'm thinking of just getting a PDA with tomtom installed as the best option for a cheap setup...
I can't remember exactly what the problem is but I've heard of it before, there may even have been a recall about this iirc, but I'm not sure if I'm thinking of something else. A common problem is that the fuel lines can be worn through as there clips can be broken but I don't think that would...
Are you sure cat? I had thought the alternator was one of the things that you needed to change if you put a 19 engine in a clio? or is it just mounted differently?
as above it's not all that difficult. Just make sure you don't go to the garage that mentioned the torsion bar becuase Mk2 Clio's don't even have torsion bars.
Had a look tonight and was quite impressed with the quality of some of them tbh. As it's a present for someone I'm looking for I think it would have to be one of the camera stand alone printers I would get, so any suggestion on them?
yeah you are best changing it. A valver one should be a straight fit, but there are two different valver ones - one for teh early ph1's and the rest had another one. One of them is a straight fit into the 1.4 and I think it was the later one, but someone else can confirm. Shouldn't need to...
^^^ I think edde was meaning the distick. Some clios that year came with the 1.2 energy as well i think, but if it looks the same as the one that was in your mk2 then it will be the d7f as mentioned.
coul be that. Were you getting the whurring noise everytime?
If so it might be possible that the starter motor just wasn't engaging with the teeth on the flywheel. I'm not really up to speed on exactly how the starter motor operates etc but that would be my guess from what you said.
Try...
tbh, the main problem isn't with the engine itself so imo isn't worth rebuilding it for that reason. The main ares of concern are other elements going wrong and mainly the gearbox from my experience. IMO it would be just as well paying a bit more for one with a lot of recent engine work i.e...
I'll have a think about it. I was really thinking of getting one of the printers specifically for photos tbh where you can't really use it as teh everyday printer, but I suppose one of these other ones could be an option.
Any suggestions for the photo only ones?
thanks for the links. Do you use this as your everyday printer for documents etc as well?
How often do they tend to go through ink cartidges? I know it will vary depending on usage but roughly how many photos would you say you can get through before cartridges need replaced?
I'm looking to get a printer just for photos. Probably one of the standalone ones you get that will print standard size photos. Looking for something up to about £80.
Any recommendations?
Has anyone else got one of these? How is the quality on them as I've never actually seen a printout...
Yeah, I shoudl have said that. If you can afford the insurance it's much better to go for a 1.8 or 2.0 but if it's for insurance reasons then the 1.4 is certainly a reasonably option if your willing to spend the cash.
yeah, they may be going for that sort of money on ebay - I was just saying that that was the only place I didn't bother trying as I needed to get it asap but everywhere else was about £180.
from what i saw it seems that either garmin or tomtom are the ones to go for. To get the tomtom one for £150 wouldn't be easy tbh unless you can get it off ebay for that sort of price.
You can get quite good power from these engines tbh. With cams/chipped/headwork some have seen 100bhp +. You've also got the option of putting a 1.6 bottom end on there for an extra 10bhp. I considered going down that route but in the end thought it was going to cost too much. But if you are...
