Renault have done a good job of chipping a lot of the paint off my new wishbones, before I fit them I was thinking of painting them and the inner tie rods. Would simple rattle can gloss black be sufficient or is there something better to use, not wanting the expense or delay of powdercoat...
I'm replacing the bonnet release cable on my 172, it has what I believe is the alarm loom poked through the grommet on the original cable. I'm contemplating cutting the loom and doing away with the alarm as they can be troublesome, can I literally hack through it with no consequences other than...
I thinking know the answer to this question already but here goes, how easy is it to remove the front arb? Mines a bit flaky so a rub down and lick of paint wouldnt go a miss.
Alternatively I could drop the outer bushes, let it dangle and spot treat it the ends which have suffered the worst.
My 2 1/2 year old Karcher K2 has died, it seems this isn't unusual with Karcher these days. Has anyone any suggestions for a new one on a similar price bracket, maybe £150 max?
Has anyone ever used one of these on a 1*2? Due to the scarcity of 172 sports cats I was thinking of getting one off Ebay to weld in to a decat.

Is this going to be heavy duty enough to replace my gearbox to chassis earth strap?
I'm thinking of cashing in my ph2 172 original cat and replacing it with a Ktec sports cat, is the Ktec going to last, more importantly is it reliably going to get through an MOT?
Any fitting issues?
Right, I thought I'd solved this by fitting a new alternator but still my battery is draining after a few weeks left with out use.
Please can someone give me some advice on what to look for, truley fed up now.
One of my o rings on the fuel rail has perished, I've searched and found two sixes mentioned, 7mm id x 2mm cs, 8mm id x 1.5mm. Which is correct if it makes much difference and will nitrile be sufficient?
I've had genuine Citroen mist washer jets for my 172 in my Ebay basket for ages, when to buy them and they've gone from £6.89 to £19.99!
Anyone used non genuine ones for cheap-skates like me?
I'm hoping the weather improves tomorrow so I can change my alternator and flush my coolant before fitting a new radiator and condenser. I've read @bloke mention in the past about running a dissolved dishwasher tablet through it while the system gets up to temperature to give it all good clean...
Can any of you knowledgeable chaps tell me the part number of the auxiliary lower idler pulley for a 172, mine is noisy but my belt and tensioner was only done last year. No idea why this wasnt changed but while I have the alternator out I might as well do it.
If anyone has a good used one...
Has anyone any dealings with someone going by Southview Hol Lettings on Facebook? Trying to by an exhaust from them but they claim not to have PayPal which I find odd
Has anyone found a spray paint that matches closely the metallic colour under the sticky dash parts?
I've stripped the sticky crap off a while ago but I'm not happy with the finish so I'd like to key it, spray than coat in a satin lacquer.
Looking to replace the track rod ends on my 172, carparts for less have the lemforder ones £30 a pair with discount. Not a bad price but anywhere cheaper that anyone knows of?
I'm still finding my battery drains if left for a few weeks. It's a new bosch S4, I've done a parasitic draw test which highlighted the interior light as the problem so I sorted that but still the problem persists even though a draw test now shows minimal milliamp draw.
Any ideas?
I'm trying to get to the bottom of the poor signal on the radio in my 172, FM is ok, could be better but works where as AM and MW are non existent.
I've checked the aerial lead on the headunit and wiggled the leads at the aerial lead but no improvement. Is it definitely a case of needing a...
I'm in a bit of a quandary over my Flame red 172 since watching @RustyMojo do the bold thing in buying a cleaner example rather than keep throwing cash at a rough car.
I've been blindly plugging away getting the rear beam and all the underside stripped back and rust treated while the bodywork...
