L maf, I've researched and decided to get a good front windscreen fitted by a local professional for £150 as a happy medium, and can get a my driver side front window 2nd hand for £20, but how easy was it to fit that one? I'm a novice to intermediate - can anyone do that window? Is it simply a...
Clio mkI was broken into last night and to add insult to injury they smashed 2 windows - main windscreen and drivers window... and they're not covered on my TPF&T insurance : (
How much is it gonna cost? I phoned Autoglass and it was about £450! I'm thinking it would be cheaper to get the...
As they say on Crimewatch, please leave some information, however insignificant it seems.
I've left this a bit late I'm afraid, but I have 1 opportunity to discuss things with my mechanic Sunday morning and a week to get stuff ordered and fitted.
I'll number questions to make things easier...
Thanks for the replies...., eventually ; ) lol
Need this sorting out as quick as, cos Adrian Fux is harasssing me for final specs and don't want to be stuck with stock suspension or a £80 'mid-term insurance upgrade fee'!
Its a 1996 Clio mk1, ph 2 clio, 1.2L
According to europerformance...
I'd quite like to go for Koni Sport shocks, but some websites say they can only permit lowering of up to 35mm, while the springs go 45-50. Koni do 'shortened' shocks for lowering further, but don't seem to cover my car. : (
Any ideas?
I understand Eibach are considered to make the best springs, but which brand of dampers would go best with them on a mk1? Thanks
Also, if there's an option should I go for standard or low type damper with the Sportlines?
Coming home lights just means the headlights operate for 10 secs - 2 minutes (user selectable) when alarm is activated. It means the road in front is lit when walking away from the car.
Really pleased with the Toad so far...
I've fitted some 15" alloys to replace the 13" standard wheels on my mk1.
Recommended pressure on standard wheels is 30 front, 34 rear.
But is 30/34 on standard wheels the same as 30/34 on bigger alloys?
If not, how do I know which tyre pressures to use?
Well yes, but I didn't just get 'that unit' fitted, which is why I posted a list of all the work done.
£220 was the fitted price of the basic alarm, but complete central locking installation (wasn't any on mk1), boot release, tilt sensor, proximity alert, extra remote, programmed lights and so...
But my Clio mk1 with loads of obvious upgrades had no imobiliser, alarm or anything. Over 10 years old = 6x more likely to be stolen, even before fitting fatass spolier, Wolfrace alloys, H&R springs etc etc etc.
The fact that they won't even offer a £1 discount shows to me that they are very...
The quotes are exactly the same whether I have a Thathcam 1 or not!
It just makes me think that they believe that I will be worse off claiming for my car if it gets nicked, and that they are just covering their backs incase I drive into a Jag. :dapprove: :(
Need quick answers. Should I call the fitter back before he loses interest or not?
~I've just had a Toad alarm system installed and am happy with most of it, but it seems to take a lot to trigger the alarm.
The alarm includes a 'dual shock sensor', but I can bounce on the bonnet or boot until...
Clio mk1. I've cut the black foam knob off with a penknife and a yellowing piece of plastic sits on top. Does a new gearknob sit on this, or do I have to remove it to?
If I have to remove the plastic bit, how do I do it without 'king up the gears?!
I understand they're superglued on?
I think no-one would disagree if money was no object.
So the final award goes to... (bearing in mind the 'Ultimates' are KTec sourced (respected) and less than half the price and I'm working to a strict budget) ?..
Great points. Maybe the major reason that its not recommended is because it gives a false sense of security.
If its on even a small incline, I can imagine more pressure on some axles than others, especially if the axle height is set by by preset pins instead of analogue adjustment.
If on a...
