Ph1 172
Tried GSF and they were useless.Tried local spares shop and they got me a pencil one.
Shop reckons they'll get me one for tomz that will be right but I'm thinking should I of stuck with stealers. Was getting fed up of expensive parts. Don't think I'm gonna save much now and it won't...
Had wing filled and repaired. Had bonnet sand, scuffs underneath from being caught on ramps filled and fog light sanded down due to cracked laquer, bonnet sanded filled smoothed and sprayed and one alloy where brake dust was stuck to laquer and curbed.
All for £300 cash. Would seem cheap but...
I got the kit from Renualt and payed a belt specialist in Notts £120 to do it.
I thought the bearings are sealed so how would wd40 help. Doesn't it destroy grease as well?
Before a took it in the tensioner was sticking and I could hear belt going loose. Not it doesn't do that. What should I do?
Cheers. Went to garage and he said had same problem with a car before. Belt been changed but squeaked. Only way to fix was new belt. It's pretty shocking that. Doesn't the idler come with the aux belt kit?
Yeah if all belts are pre tensioned why should they squeak. Makes my car sound old and knackered. lol
Someone else must of had this and fixed it. Please don't WD40 lol
So what would it be and how do I fix it. Engine cold, rev it squeak, aircon off.
Once it's warmed up packs it in but does make a slight wooshing sound. Asked mechanic about the sound before it started squeaking and he said it was fine.
Cheers Rich
I thought I didn't know what I was doing with one but for a body shop to make it worse it just unforgivable. If you have any spare time this weekend I'm happy for you to have a go. I'll pay since I've seen you car and it's perfect!
Really annoyed.
Paid bodyshop as recommended by friend who has had spoilers etc done for him and his mates.
I wanted some wing damage doing, the bonnet stone chips, and bumper that the lacquer had gone bad after being caught on ramps etc and was badly stone chipped. There was scores in the...
I will but I need dimensions so I can find a filter. My car is at bodyshop so I can't measure and was hoping to source bits ready for weekend cause I'll get car on friday. I've got some CAF ducting and was looking on ebay for a cheap second hand filter.
Will post pictures once done. Think I've...
Yeah I know ITG do panel filters but I was thinking of using it as a heatshield for a IK filter. Then would get sound and better filter.
I've looked at pictures but it's hard to judge size. I think the filters are 100mm but they don't fill the box. It's just an idea. Was looking into upgrading...
Was wondering if I could fit a IK inside as the air box is round. Would act as a heatsheild. I'm sure I've heard that the intakes are 60mm and the cup racers are 100mm so the actually box must be more than 100mm in diameter.
Anyone fancy nipping out and measuring one or can you find it...
If I need to replace them could I use Cup ones, would that lower it at all. Mines a ph1 172. You only really hear the knocking when my fat mate is in passenger side and it's a rattle at front and a slight knock from back.
The ride does quite seem right and it knocks a bit on the nearside. My mate said since it's got 100k on it shocks might want changing even though they are not leaking.
How do you tell and would you replace them with Ren ones or get some others?
Got one today. £3.20. Cheaper than last shampoo. Just waiting for car now. Got Monday off work to get SRP & EGP on it and maybe wax on top. Hope weather is good.
I read on hear once Rich saying there is a shampoo that Vauxhall do thats better than Zymol but I can't find the thread.
I'm looking for a good sub £10 shampoo thats better than Zymol. I also want a wheel cleaning brush thats not to harsh cause I'm waiting for my car to come back from body...
Also would like bonnet and bumper doing. Now I've had two quotes:
The Paint Shack - £350 plus vat £450 +vat if want alll wheels doing aswell
B Smart - £300 inc vat £480 inc vat with wheels
Now the paint shack has been recomended to me and he does seem good. Proper booth and all that. B...
Hillpower does that matching I think. Spoke to him about it a while a go. Said could do matching and rolling road fuel timing/mapping for around £500 which seemed good.
I've been there and he does most things you can want. A lot of tuning normal springs, coilovers etc. Very friendly guy but don't bother with e-mails just ring him for a chat.
No before everyone tells me to use search I've hammered it.
I got uprated dogbone from Hillpower in summer. Everything seemed sorted.
Started knocking again so changed gearbox one and took battery off loosen other mount and pulled engine forward. Everything seemed good again.
Winter comes...
Looked in daylight and maybe won't need a new arch. Gonna take it to spray shop when get chance. Sounds from some of the other accident threads mine was minor.
Things is it's my Sunday car and I drive a lot at work. Stupid mistake and it ain't down to lack of skill it's just being human and...
