Snap mate! I'm also doing a flamer project. I've
always loved the colour and it harks back to my Naples Red 1.8 16v, my first ever car. This is my 4th Renaultsport, 5th clio and 6th Renault.
I think yours sounds like it's in a better state than mine was, it's a whole lot tidier and running...
On my list to replace is my shabby copy part exhaust, I'm open to ideas so stealth or cut bumper are both options as are full system or just back box.
I want something to improve the sound, maybe a bit lairy but not silly loud and if visible a neat rolled tip maybe 2.5-3" sitting flushish with...
Yesterday I refitted my dash top and interior sticky plastics after removing the vile sticky stuff and treating with Auto Finesse Revive, I also replaced my lacquer peeled drivers door handle.
Today I picked up a set of pretty curbed 172 alloys with two near new Rainsports and two jinyu budgets...
I want to replace my manky 172 gear knob and gaitor for a ph1 or ph1 style. I was thinking the Richbrook alloy one would be the simplest option, has anyone else fitted one or recommend doing the complete ph1 mechanism
Also interested to find a closer specialist, Herefordshire so not far from Pembrokeshire. I have been told there is a good bloke called Jamie at the Ford garage in Llandrindod wells
I do as of today and appreciate it's not a good idea but the problem was there beforehand. As soon as I get paid I'll be doing the same on the rear. I'll swap them over tomorrow and check over the track rod ends etc.
Ok so now I have to admit that the place that fitted the Rainsports on the back(195s) checked the tracking but on an old school system so no print out but it was bang on straight ahead.
Tyres on the front are budgets and 205s, front to back swap may be an idea?
My 172 pulls and tramlines badly but as I was going to replace the shocks springs and top mounts I decided to sort it afterwards replacing it all.
Today I've been to have 2 rainsport 3s put on the back and check the front tracking hoping it was going to be way out but it was dead straight. I...
Id like to think i am, assuming its timed correctly now is it really just a case of using the renault tools to lock off the cams etc.
If it happened not to be timed correctly currently does that make it a harder job?
I do most things on my cars and bike, my 172 is due its belts and pulleys change which I've never attempted before on ant car to be honest, would I be stupid to even entertain the idea?
Was there possibly someone parked behind them when they parked there? I wouldn't say that's classic drunk parking, looks more like they are one of my fellow Herefordians.
They left just enough room to get out although it would pi$$ me off too.
Tried a search but couldn't find an answer, I'm assembling my cup shocks and don't trust the way round the bearing is inserted into the rubber mount.
Can someone confirm it's orientation?
