Ok i didn't want to start another thread so....
I just got of the phone with the garage, and they said that both the timing belt and auxiliary belt are two seperate things and that they both need doing at the same time!! (every 5 years)...
The MOT runs out in January and the tax in august.
I have only just this weekend talked with the wife about selling the car, she isn't due until christmas, but i would rather advertise the car now as you never know how long it will take to sell a vehicle!
So i will be advertising this coming...

It is a 53 172 cup in mint condition with 31k on the clock, completely original. the only mod is a stainless steel rear box, that's it.

bp ultimate whenever i can.
tried 3 tanks of V-power now, seems to run smoother and maybe slightly more responsive, but can't be 100% sure if it's not my imagination, but my mpg drops by 3 miles to gallon on v-power everytime i fill up on it, so going back to bp me thinks

had 76miles left from a full tank of petrol! just over £30 to fill her.

The wife has just seen the 182, and she don't like it! i think she's right there is something the 172 cup has got that the 182 hasn't.. can't put my finger on it.
although the wheels are the only difference i can see from the outside it just doesn't have the same presence for some reason :S...
Ahh right, no this is dark blue(looks like 172 cup colour) and has abs,aircon, half leather seats and quite few more extras..
So would i be better off with a 172 cup
I've been looking for a 172 cup and i love the look of the 172, but i have seen a 182 cup for sale for £7250 with 50k on the clock rfsh...
What would you get? i don't much about the 182 as i've been looking for a 172 cup, and how can you tell that the 182 is a the cup version? and do you think...
I like the wheels you have on now but... i think the 182 Cup anthracite wheels would suit the car better.

I had a quote from Sainsburys insurance on a 2002 model cup, the underwriters were First Alternative, i had to ring them to explain, she just changed the year on the quote and said the price was the same ;)

I had a previous quote on a 2002 plated clio cup no problem, but when i enter the year of car as 2003 it refuses to show the cup version, just Sport 172 shows in the car list, no Cup version!
