When changing my steering wheel I managed to somehow damange the white airbag connector within the steering wheel assembly.
Is there a way to simply turn off the warning lights without replacing the wire? As it's very expensive!
Cheers,
Dan
Just had a mobile automotive locksmith come to my house and cut me a brand new key, genuine renault fob and coded for a grand total of £80! Took 5 mins and didnt even have to leave the house :)
Just hope this cures my immob not de-activating problem! Fingers crossed! (old key worked fine...
I've got as far as unclipping the airbag from the wheel, but how do the electric connections disconnect? They look very fragile and dont want to brake them. Do you sqeeze either side of them or pop them with a scew driver?
Also, the main T50 bolt in the centre, haynes says you need to replace...
The following problem comes and goes but has recently got worse:
Sometimes when turning on ignition the immob light flashes and does not go out. Taking the key out and trying again SOMETIMES solves this but not always. Othertimes it will just keep flashing, and sometimes it will just stay on...
After changing the front struts on my clio succsefully I stuck the wheels back on for a test drive.... and managed to shear one of them! Was'nt even putting much force on it either!?
Now how the hell do i sort this ?!
Got to replace the front struts on my DCI later this week. Whats this job like to do on a Clio guys? Done it before on other cars without a problem, but are there any hidden problems that the haynes manual doesnt mention? Looks easy enough looking at the manual.... famous last words!!!
My DCI failed on the MOT smoke test. it got 3.62 m-1 what ever that is.
The car has an air leak somewhere between the turbo and inlet, would this be causing the bad emissions reading. Or would it be a dodgy egr valve?
Dan
Where is this located? Its not on the back of the UCH in my car (DCI) only the front fog relay is here.
Is it inside the UCH? this appears to have a cover, can this be taken off without upsetting it?
Or is it located elsewhere?
Cheers,
Dan
Right wel driving home this evening the low fuel level light has come on. I have 1/6th of a tank left (over 75 miles of juce in a DCI) and its on. Could this be a bad earth or signs of a dodgy sensor?
Any clues people?
So I checked the fuses - fine! Lowered the UCH down out of position to check the relays to find............ Nothing no relays at all!
Obviously this is probably why they have never worked, but my other question is... are there any others missing? There are no more modules to clip onto the UCH...
I've had random starting problems for a while but recently not a problem. Go to turn the key and nothing, all the correct lights show up they dissapear... imob, serv, stop lights etc etc all fine.... go to start and nothing.
This problem seemed to have gone until yesturday evening, was round...
My disks need changing on my Mk2 DCI before it's MOT next month. I was wondering if there was a straight fit item I could upgrade to (ie bigger, vented)? Somthing off a 1*2 perhaps?
Any info would be very much appreciated!

Dan
Someone mentioned that the actual dial unit is sealed? If so, are you able to change to bulbs for the warning indicators (service, stop handbrake etc)?
And if so, where can I get these from (other than renault?)
Many thanks,
Dan
Now and again when I turn the key nothing happends... at all. Other times its fine, cracks over and fires (when cold its a dog to start but perfect when warm).
Now today it did the same trick, nothing first time... then second it cranked over and over then just stopped cranking as if it tried...
Can anyone tell me where the relay is located for front fog lights on a DCI model?
I've done a search and found the relay number... but where is it located? Under the engine bay with the other main relays?
Cheers,
dan
Need a refurbished set of injectors for my Clio DCI as the cam belt snapped and destroyed them (according to the garage anyway).
Anyone know a good place to try and get these from?
Dan
And I suspect at the very least it will need a new head, if not another engine.
Any recommendations for reburbished / second hand renault engines? Not too many choices looking on google.
Cheers.

I took my clio to a garage to have a diagnostic check done. They used two different tools. The first gave a strange A/C code error (my car does not have AC) and the other gave an error that could not be identified.
The diagnostic tools used were:
socio technomotor - Error Code 19101 A
snap...
Anyone have a error code reader they could possibly hook upto my car this week at some point? Beer tokens waiting :D
Cheecky I know but worth a try ;)

I've been told that problematic starting when cold can be caused by a iffy temp sensor in the head. Does the car have two of these (one in the head and one in another location)? One for the ECU and one for the dash?
Reason I ask is because my dash temp sensor appears to be working fine but...
I have a Mk2 Phase 2 Clio DCI and the catch has broken. I can open it but not lock it open as a peice seems to have broken off!?
Anyway, just wondered how hard it would be to replace the entire catch for a new item?
Cheers,
Dan
I discovered that the rear 1/4 bump strip was stuck on my car (all the fixings are broken). I didn't think anything of it and now i've colour coded the strip and want to stick it back on the car! Any recommendations as to what to use please?
Just put the final coat of paint on my door strips and they have come out very dark compared to the original paint. I know it fades but the difference is huge! Colour Code D44 (from halfords mixed range). Not only this it seems to be a darker shade of blue anyway!
Question is - I used grey...
