So much bluff and bluster about this subject, Id drive any car carefully for say a 100 miles to make sure it's screwed together properly and bed the brakes, clutch etc mkae sure it's upto temperature before driving it hard regardless of age and then thrash it as much as you want.
when i had my...
sounds like a damaged wire/terminal somewhere, if yo uuse the above method be sure to put a fuse in if you intend to leave i tlike that or sort it properly soon after mot
Something you clearly don't, you don't know the failure mode, you don't know the history of the car or the exact circumstance it failed under. There is no company in the world that does not have failed products or parts, not even in the aerospace or pharmacutical industries, let alone auto. You...
pmsl, my question was more aimed at does he even need one? I have some "basic" knowledge of engines and if he simpy wants it for appearance then fine, fit one and vent it to atmoshpere or vent it back to the throttle body and use it as a seperator if it's a good one. Otherwise, if the engine is...
Such as?
I can see a couple of points, if the rod bolt is a vunerable part of the engine there is an argument for uprating it and maybe the base engine is over stretched in the scenario it was being used in. However, from what i gather this was as a result of a problem with the box shifting...
I'm not asking you to declare figures etc but have you run any yet?
Does it really have less flow loss than ITB's through 1 single throttle body?
Is it really going to get close to throttle bodie performance?
It's my local track and i've done a few track days there! Brilliant fun, although i have off a few times aswell trying a bit too hard!
Craners is great fun, a big set of balls and you can make up so much time!
depends on the damage, if the head needs skimming it'll be alot more, plus you need to flush the coolant system. Best get the mikanic to have a look at it the gasket and bolts aren't the expensive bits it's as mentioned above, the labour and potential head damage.
If the water temp rises when you put your foot down it is likely to be head gasket, as you put the engine under load the cylinder pressures increase and force hot combustion gas into the coolant increasing it in temperature. If it rises when in neutral then i'm assuming you're stationary, you...
If you're going with a solid profile cams i'd consider the following in addition to piston clearance.
1) Spring rate sufficient for valve train acceleration, it's not lift you need to worry about but rate of lift (not running high rpm will help with this)
2) Sufficient clearance with new...
Intermittant faults an be a pig to trace sometimes but you've just got to go through it methodically.
I'd be tempted to go through your harness routing and make sure it's all clipped properly and secured with no tension on the pins in the connectors or you'll be likely to have similar issues in...
i can't find a pic but the current V8 Vantage has a in single inlet to the inlet manifold but has twin airboxes, the intake duct is about the right size for what you're after, you couly use th eintact duct to convert a single filter to twin port into the carbon airbox
you can just take one tapping from between two ports nad drill into that from inside the two inlet tracts in the manifold, less piping that way and the same pedal feel. Going balance bar route is excessive for a road car really.
Another option for vac take off is to run an alternator with an...
Hudson you raging great tart! It'll be something easy, have you checked you've actually got fuel and a spark? you must be missing 1 of em.
Fuel pump running ok?
Power to the Coil?
Have you tried the GMH solution? I've not known something come out not running yet. I'm off all next week if you...
