i never thought of buying a clio 16v, i worked for renault as a pannel beater
for years and seen loads of them, but they never tickled my fancy
i am sure they are a nice car, the only one i thought about was a clio williams
but they seem to be all high milage and been raced to hell and back
well i have spoken to a few people on different GTI forums
and they say around 120bhp to 130bhp depending on the year
the early models are supposed to have 120bhp and s- plate on 130bhp
D-CUP , yes mate i have found that the 106 gti handle loads better than my old clio 172 and both cars are standard, it feels more stiffer and more of a harder ride.
yeah i had a encounter with a few when i had my clio 172
i thought they where a easy target, but i was wrong
i had a hard job to try and shake him
fair play to the 106 gti they are pretty quick, i thought nothing of them
before.
if the 106 gti had 172 bhp it would be well fast
Well i have had my 106 GTI for a week now
and i must say its not that slower than my clio sport 172
sure i miss the grunt of 172 but the 106 gti is bloody quick for a 1.6
it sounds great on tick over, like a minature scooby
and there is loads of group n performance parts available from...
cheers peeps
thanks for your replys, iam gonna miss the clio had great fun driving it
dam shame i didnt come to any meetings and see everybody
ian 172 you are not wrong there mate, i drove the 106 gti nice little car
but i did notice a difference when i put my foot down
172 loony you...
goodbye 172
Thats it the deal has been done monday morning the clio is gone
i got £7500 for it 44k, sold my cup alloys to my mate
and we put his mk2 172 alloys on, it looks sh*t but hey its been traded
i am gonna get one again might go for a clio cup next time
got my self a 106 gti in...
clio 172 exhaust rattle around 4500 rpm
i thought i was a heat sheild , but i have been proved wrong
anyone with a clio mk1 mk2 172 had this prob
shorty:)
sorry to go off topic slightly
my clio 172 with 40k has a bugger of a rattle , i thought a heat shield had
come lose
looks like a magnex system
How much are they
cliosport car mats
did they get produced? i had a look at the thread ages ago
i am after some nice mats for my clio
renault do the clio cup mats but i dont know what they look like
anyone got pics or know how to get hold of the clio sport ones
Cheers
shorty
Wicked idea, have you thought of contacting a
alloy pipe supplier and get
polished alloy pipe the same shape as the ducting pipe you have used
in pic the engine bay
i have started looking for a supplier
should not be that expensive to make a look wicked
could go for stainless steel...
mine was standard i didnt waste any money on it by putting useless performance products on it
just looking at Chris nnic
I had my Cup rrd yesterday. It had 169.6BHP with just an IK which probably doesnt help. Quite pleased but it is running far too rich. Put chip on and it went down to 165bhp!
What is it with renault clio 172 they are better left standard
you would of thought that with a chip and inuction kit you would get a good increase in power
not decrease , is the 172 crap at handling upgrades, i just dont get it
with any other car you get power gains
its a bit of a sh*tta...
its true though, they are better left standard with minor mods
like wheels and the odd spoiler, but not bodykits and mesh everywhere
they look a bit silly,
