172 cup 5 year service (Big one)

Hi all, Just rang my local stealers to enquire about a big service inc all belts etc etc! Jesus h christ they wanted £1200!!!
Popped in to a local renault specialist and he quoted me £480 for a full service inc cambelt and auxillary belt!
Question is should i get the water pump changer too?

Car is a jan 2004 172 cup that has 34k on the clock. Does the cambelt need doing now?

Yes it does need the cambelt doing. I'd also recommend doing the waterpump too its realy easy to do when the belts are off and will be more cost efficient in the long run.

£480 for both belts and full service seems very reasonable to me.

Water pump is often recommended changing while having the cambelt changed.

Rung the garage today and they are going to put a new pump on for me, for whatever the price of the pump is? Any ideas?
