Cheers @sam JFM but if the weather is like this, there wont be a battle unless my wets turn up, otherwise it's going to be damn slippy!!
Havnt driven it in anger yet either so it will be bit of a learning curve getting used to epas and hopefully decent tyres instead of the road tyres I'm used to from sprints.
I have got another busy day again tomorrow finishing it, but my codriver is popping round so he can sort his own seat and belts etc.
Window film is now done thanks to 1-2-1 Windscreens.
Today I have fitted the Sump guard, welded the drivers rails, drilled the rails to suit the seats, welded in new harness points to the outer sills and hopefully will just pop out in a bit to spray a bit of paint over them.
Only other pics I took are these of the Sump guard

Just been out and sprayed the welds and seat rails. Bit of a rush job (paint runs but most should be hidden) obviously but at least they should be dry by the morning ready for reassembly

It's finished!

Another long day which didn't help after I realised I had left my msa licence and paperwork in work, but after a few phone calls I tracked down a key holder and went and got it.
All the rest of the interior refitted, here's a few pics as I need some sleep before a 5.30 am alarm!
Please let me have dry weather tomorrow as my wet tyres didn't arrive! !

Stage 9.
I was 11th overall and 1st in class with a 30+ second lead over 2nd in class.
My fault, in the pissing down rain in the afternoon, the concrete sections were like ice.
I came very quick into that section, aquaplaned, so chucked it into the 90r with the handbrake, and booted it to try and stay out of the hedge. It spin then gripped on too much lock and the shaft went bang.
Gutted.

Had plenty of other moments during the day, spins, 3rd gear tankslapper after a bump, 2 wheels moment after cutting a corner etc etc.

In general, very happy with the car, although its now slightly battle scarred.
Cone and barrel marks down the sides, front splitter missing, 4 curbed wheels, 2 knackered tyres, smashed drivers mirror and missing cover.

The two Michelin slicks at the back were like the one at the front. Spot the curb rash

Got my monies worth out of them. That was only 6 stages.
Had to swop to cut Hankook slicks for the wet.

Bit of an update.
I now have a new codriver for the manx rally, and so the car has advertising for tobermory-campsite.co.uk on it to go with the RTR parts advertising.

The red wheels are getting painted a different colour.
I used the car last weekend giving passenger rides at the Asda On Your Marks charity day at Bruntingthorpe which was great fun until I sheared a couple of wheel studs so then it was game over.
Fuel economy was awesome.......

The car has now been fitted with the A I Tech competition studs and the copper coated wheel nuts.
The front brakes have been put back to standard calipers, new DS1.11 and Brembo hc discs courtesy of @George@RTR_Parts , as well as new Brembo hc rear discs, new shims, nuts and standard pads.

Just need to bed them in now.

Also managed to get some more pro race 1.2 alloys with road tyres on to use rather than screwing up my tarmac tyres on the road.

Got a month until the Manx, and just a few bits left to do. Wire up the new LED light bar to go onto the bonnet, map light, interior light etc through a new fused busbar block.
Nervously excited, as I just want to get it to the finish!

Best of luck Paul! Why have the big brakes gone?

Rotors are right on the limit and would need new pads too so decided to go back to standard setup with the ds1.11 pads as it is the cheaper option and I can sell the AP setup to fund the Manx.
Probably sell that rear beam I had off you too as I'm using the one that was on the cup shell.

Just read through this, no messing about, great job on the car! Rallying is on my to-do at some point in the future, how did you get on?

Forgive my brain being stuck in the 1990s, but that sounds like a Group N class? How do they work the classes on that event?

Loads of different classes, as it was BRC so there are those classes, and historic classes etc, then national classes
