182 Cup V Astra Turbo Coupe

Had one in front of me going onto the slip road of the M66 at Ramsbottom.Theres a really tight left-right before the slip road opens out straight.He was about four car lengths ahead and he floored it before l had straightened up.

He was owned !

I had to back off before the slip road ended (which is about 200 meters long) before the slip road meets the M-way.He was giving it some as his motor smelt of oil lol. Think they are about 6.6 seconds...the re-map on mine was probably the difference even though he had the jump on me.

The fastest astra coupe is 197bhp and does 0-60 in 7.0,

From stationary you should murder it.

They aint called Dis-Astras for nothing

I just got rid of my Astra 2003 plate sri turbo! On straights it would own clio 182/172 cup! but then when it comes to corners ! A boat comes to mind lol!!

The turbo has the same power as a 197bhp but weighs about 1350kg so its not going to be that much slower but it will be slower. If it is standard anyway. Nice cars though. Used to have a special edition 1.8 coupe. It was a nice car to drive but no where near as fun as a clio.

I had an Astra 1.8 SRI 07 plate as a hire car as my 182 cup was gettign some work done.....it was with out a question of doubt the biggest load of tu#d I have ever driven. Wheels are too big...such a slow car...and it drank and drank...I really felt like crushing the car...dropping it a Vaux dealing by low loader and telling them to start again.

i had a run with coupe turbo when i had my 172. was even untill about 85 when he pulled away. they do have a top speed of 150! my mate had a remapped one, it wasnt good at corners but pulled like a train upto 120+ (all done on a airstrip you understand)

i had the hatchback ! re-mapped at courntey ! was quik but like you said didnt go around corners!
172 much more of a drivers car and i love it!!!

didnt take it that seriously tbh aslong as i beat my friend's GSI and kept up with other similar spec'd cars but i will have a look at the vids and see what sort of time i was running. Wouldnt have thought that great as i filmed at the start of the evening and got faster at the end when my dvd's were full up. Trackday naivety and all that !!!

PLEASE PLEASE can everyone not keep goin on about 0-60 times on cars!!! It tells you almost nothing about the cars real performance!!!! It after 60 where it all counts. Midrange, 30-120 etc etc. If you dont believe me then take a quick glance over the latest EVO mag where it features the 9FF porsche. Nearly 1000bhp, beats a veyron but still 0-60 in only 5.2 seconds!!!! But like i said its after that where it counts if you you carry on reading the figures.

PLEASE PLEASE can everyone not keep goin on about 0-60 times on cars!!! It tells you almost nothing about the cars real performance!!!! It after 60 where it all counts.
