Seriously just clean up all the tracks and resistors. They usually dont need replacing but they just get so corroded they dont work anymore.

The board inside a standard light is also identical, it's the plastic which is rare.

Mot passed - even with a massive exhaust (cv boot clip broken on the drivers side - fixed now) and a small chip in the windscreen.
I had just the boot lock to fix and buy a radio for it but the missus phoned and said looked like oil left on the floor outside the house and the chip is now a crack ffs

but it’s back on the road and looks tiny next to my Audi

Yep my attempt is still ongoing.

I bought a Megane MK2 brake light ( part number 8200073239) as the multi block looked identical (it is and fits perfectly) but still not working.
could be battery voltage, something else….I’m defo not a sparky haha

Megane on the left, my original on the right.
Have you got a multimeter?
I got readings on all the components - they varied wildly but they weren’t shorted, I tested it an it failed - I needed to resoldor the socket holder pins/ things to get a reading through the plug to the track on the board - it failed again…. - but I’d put the white socket on backwards, sounds stupid but try swapping the socket holder round

might be worth a shot 👍
If you look at my photo, look at the diode top right. It looks burnt out to me, so i think that is the problem/needs replacing.

like I said, I’m thick as mince when it comes to electrics 😁

I’d have a look at this bit - yours still looks a bit green - I spent a good half hour pushing the socket on an off to get the contact ok - no fiber brush thing - I just got a little wire wool twisted it and snipped the end to make a brush- use that to clean the brown bits off the diodes

also I got a small pin - like a cork board pin and filed the end to make a scraper to get the green on the inside of the socket

if you have soldering iron defo heat up the sockets solder and add fresh

I'm tempted to make my own cup spoiler PCBs if that's what I can expect as a return!
