I think they are an M4 thread.

I needed a longer one as I have a rear polybushed mount & just went to the local nut & bolt supplier. So just bought a few different lengths up to 25mm long as they were pence. Also bought a couple of penny washers.

Can be seen in this photo on the back box hangar.

I am really enjoying the 172 cup.

Always been curious how a V6 compares. Due to a very generous long time friend I am finding out ..

I have drive it around 125mi so far. Mainly from Midlands to Chez Bond.

Couple of comparisons I have noted between the V6 and the cup.

Power delivery is miles different. Its to be expected between a 3.0 V6 and a 2.0 4 banger
Vee isnt a lot faster in a straight line. Due to the respect I have for the car and owner I am not going to go full send ( hold my beer ) with the Vee in the bends.
Looking forward in the Vee its a phase 1 , 172. Nothing more. Nothing less
The V6 sounds epic when pressing on.
The OEM suspension is miles more compliant on rough road surfaces
The amount of looks the vee gets is bonkers.

For me, the favourite part about the Vee is when you get it right up the rev range and wring its neck, the noise is great! I haven't had mine out for a while and I miss driving it, but in this weather it's not so great, so I'm cool with that. I'm also paranoid as the amount of divvys out there seems to get worse by the day!

I'm like these pics, Phase 1 Vee, Phase 2 172, but a full fat. I know that Vee's don't set the world alight for speed. The 172 lacks power :( good on non motorways & A roads though!

I'd love a go of a 172 cup!

I ordered some oil from Opie yesterday. I used the TURBORENAULT 10% discount code and voila! Oil arrived today! 6l and a filter ready for an oil change!

Minor service.
Oil and filter changed. Oil supplied from OpieOils with a discount.

Straight forward enough but had to buy a oil filter removal tool as I could not get the old filter off for love or money!

I noted that after my service the OIL OK bit on the dash wasnt popping up.

Today it was the first day of no rain so I popped out. Gently manipulated the wires and voila.

Id had a bit of a disappointment earlier in the day bidding on a SportQuattro rep in an online auction

I had bought myself a steam cleaner. Not a pressure washed style steam cleaner, just a bog standard device that sends copious amounts of steam in a general direction so I decided after bitter dissapointment that cleaning was a good idea.

I cleaned the engine bay and TBH its come up alright!

With a fresh sense of enthusiasm and what could go wrong I decided remove the rear door cars and look for rot.

I didnt find any, either side! I have now coated the sills , rear ache and this void with some Bilt Hamber stuff that came recommended.

A quick QD on the car and I comes up well for a 23 year old car!

Before my exige alternator shat its biscuits ( thread will be updated in due course ) I had decided to replace my cracked dash.

Its fairly simple to remove the dash but it initially looks quite daunting

I broke the tabs off the fitted one and plastic welded in new tabs along with some superglue.

In true Haynes manual, refitting is the reversal of removal. And voila. Fixed.

Lovely work!
This is exactly what im needing to do in my car. As the centre top shroud was repainted terribly in an off grey colour from the previous owner (along with the pull handles in the door cards).
Just need to find a non sticky set that someone is willing to seperate. Which has been a real chalange here in Aus.

Thanks mate!
May need to take you up on that offer 😅
All the non-sticky versions I find from non RS models here are heavily UV damaged.

From my understanding the facade is held on with clips/plastic welds onto the dash?
Got this image from a member last year if I recall:
Door pull handles are self explanatory.

That’d be me.

You could just respray yours though instead of replace if it’s not cracked, you might need to do the door grab handles the same colour as they are a weird metallic colour under the stickiness.

Of the 6 you have ringed you don’t need to do the bottom two ( on the pic ) as the clips above hold it in place
