  HBT 172 Cup
Hi all.

My friend who is an keen Renault head has recently decided he'd like to have a go at doing some.car review videos. He's only done a couple but would apreciate any constructive cristisicm or pointers. Take a watch.

Forgive me I don't know how to embed when posting from a phone..

Thanks

Not bad. Although the clutch on a clio is not what I'd call 'quite light'. Getting into a normal car and nearly putting your foot through the footwell because you've just pressed a piece of paper is a common bane of my life.

The facts could do with... err... checking

  • £2000 isn't especially realistic for a well sorted 182
  • Cambelt is not £400 (wish it was!)
  • "Clutch should be quite light"
  • He has nothing but praise for the gearbox lol?!
  • "Common" problems section is a great idea but doesn't really cover the most common problems (I don't think cracked foglights or misty headlights deserve a mention if he hasn't covered heatshield/cat-mani rattle or dephaser pulley)

Other than that:

  • Zero information on running costs (quotes MPG once), tax, insurance, tyres, servicing
  • Doesn't even mention why you should buy it? (probably worth mentioning faster & cheaper than an ST but not as well built, more fun to drive than small German hot hatches of similar price)
  • One fousand pounds, five fousand RPM, two fousand pounds REALLY brings the professionalism down in my opinion. Chris Harris, Top Gear, Fifth Gear, Autocar all make an effort to speak properly. Not a dig at his accent.
  • Reasonable attempt at structure, editing etc but the contrast made looking at a black car like looking at a black blob (my monitor is certainly better than average so will be interesting to see what others say)
  • I thought it covered all types of driving quite well (country, motorway, town etc)
