alarm aint wrkin

the alarm in my 172 has never wrked since i gt it, stripped her dwn n seen that the siren doesnt wrk at all bt wen its locked it wont go off no matter how hard i try

any ideas lads(or ladies)?

its gt nuthin to do wit the speakers, its the standalone alarm

Has it got the little red light next to the gear lever and does it flash when you lock the car with the remote.

yea i think it is, i'll have to get a closer look and see.

ive have a lot of ppl sayin that the standard cobra alarm isnt that gr8, any recommendations to wat alarm i cud put it instead?
