Basically bought a new fog light to replace my cracked one from Ebay. Paid £9.99 and then £8.00 for delivery :)eek:) The advert clearly stated all items were sent out on Wednesday which was fair enough because I presumed I'd have it Thurs/Fri to fit at the weekend. Nowhere however did the seller state what delivery service or timescale they used.
Nothing had arrived on Saturday so I emailled the seller only to get "it was sent Weds as per our instructions it should be with you today"
It never arrived Saturday.

Today it has arrived, fair do's, but the postage sticker (prepaid jobbie) clearly shows the date as 02/03/07 meaning it was only sent Friday! Also as I paid £8.00 for postage, the sticker shows the price of £2.30. It came in it's standard Renault box so there's no packing fees...
Just emailled the seller anyhow saying how dis-pleased I am with their service, awaiting a reply! :quiet:

YES - that's quite good for e-bay!

I sold some alloys and it was a month before I got paid!

also sold loads of stuff at once (stupid idea) and it was over a week before I got it all packed and sent

as long as it's OK, forget it!

P.s: high packing charges are easiest way to make money - if it was less than Reno total, why be angry?

I don't really use ebay much now as I don't really trust it anymore. Too many dodgy people on there!

I'm not angry TBH I'm glad it's arrived in the end I just wish they'd been honest with me I guess.
When they emailled me Saturday if they'd said "sorry forgot to send it, it has been sent today" then I wouldn't be bothered, least I'd of known. Instead they chose to lie to me. :dapprove:

Postage and packing is a profit centre for sellers as you don't pay Ebay fees on the amount they charge. Its against Ebays rules, so if you get a poor reason for overcharging so much, threaten to report it, see what they say.

I have seen things like headlight bulbs for .99p and £12 delivery charge.

I love the old excuses, "I have to buy my packing materials and its wear and tear on my car taking things to the post office and my wifes time packing and the dog gets upset and blah blah"

Its an overhead mate, don't like it, don't sell on Ebay, period.

Nobody minds paying the real cost of postage + say 50% for packing, but when stuff turns up wrapped in a copy of the daily star and stinking of fags, they are taking the mick.

Over charging for p+p is pretty much the norm tbh . Thats how they make a few extra £££'s without paying ebay fees . You might be lucky and get a couple of quid back off the seller if he's feelin' generous . But he definitely didn't send it Wednesday like he said as its stamped ( label ) at the post office with the time and date it was handed over .

Main thing is that you've received it and your happy with it !
