Any BMW techs on here?

Basically, I own an E53 54 plate X5.

Problem is, over the last year I've lost sound from 3 of the 4 door speakers. I've done a search on Google and it comes back as being an amp fault (BM54). Any idea how big a job it is to find, remove, refurbish and refit?

Tbh, the OE speakers are terrible. Would I be better upgrading the speakers and running them from an aftermarket amp?

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/ then in serial number type last 7 signs from your chassis no. Go to audio system find where is the amplifier fitted. Than you will roughly know how hard it is to replace.
