Think I've managed to sort my connection issues out now..... On another forum there was a couple of posts saying the issue is when you try and install the game whilst connected to the internet so I followed these steps...
uninstall game
disconnect wifi/cable for internet
re install game, once installation gets to 97% it will say battlefield 4 needs an update to finish installing.
select update
reconnect internet
since I've done this I've been able to connect to every game and quickly, might be luck might have worked, but worth a try if your having issues on xbox one
I have to disagree with your comment Darren, regards the Engineer class. IMO it has always been a useful one, but in BF4 it has become the kit of choice for what would apear to be 90% of the players with everyone spamming launchers all over the place. It's to the point where getting in a vehincle is actually useless (especially combined with the pony splash damage). The other 10% are split between Recon and Assault. I'm level 13 now and I'm still yet to see anyone drop any ammo packs other than the big resupply boxes from the commander.
I've certainly not experinced any issues to the level of some people on here though which I guess makes me lucky. The ocasional crash to home screen, a couple of lag issues, and sometimes not managing to join games even though it says there are spaces. Definately not enough of an issue to put me off playing it.
I'm not too sure on that though. Who really picked the engineer or anti-tank role in the original BF1942 or BF2? We know that those classes have always been useful - in fact the engineer class was my de-facto choice on BF2142. But the vast majority of players tend to go for the assault and support classes - until like you say, BF4 arrived. I've never played a game within the BF series where there are so many engineers! A hint at how powerful an overall class they maybe?
To this day, I still think BF2 had the class choice nailed - recon, assault, engineer, support, special forces, medic, sniper and anti-tank. Personally I would have added another one - AA or SAM class. Make some players true anti-air specialists.
D.
Still not experiencing (Touch wood) and online/multiplayer issues with this game.
On the which class is most used question? I find, on PS4 anyway, that support class is the overwhelming favourite. I always go engineer and my primary aim is to take out the opposing team's air support. Tend to rack up a few points doing this and just capturing the bases on conquest.
I always play as Assault with some sort of Sprint advantage.
Anything else is Engineer as anti - air. Hardly anyone seems to concentrate on blowing those pesky birds out the air. SO satisfying. Lock on - hold - wait for flares to deploy - Fire. Easssy points.
Not sure what servers you play on but sometimes trying to keep a little bird in the air for longer than 30 seconds is a monumental achievement . With railgun AA and every farmer and their mothers packing a SAM of some sort its hard to do anything. Although if you have 2 mates on perma repair you can survive just about! Without this ability the normal attack chopper does not seem to last that long.
Can you only get Carbines in the Engineering class?^^ Haha.
It is a waff starting weapon but the Carbines are much better.
To be a pilot in BF4 is to curse everything that has an AA capability (which is pretty much anything). Also learning to swear at your ECM as missiles still pinging you while it is active and the stupid critical damage mechanic. Sup rotors going offline after 1 hit!
is Engineer the way to go ? not tried it yet
Once you unlock the Anti-Tank field upgrade, you can carry more rockets/mines too. A walking terrorist.
Yeh but is it just me, but when you unlock 6 mines, you can only place three down? If you have three down, and put another it removes the first one you put down, so you can only ever put down three?
Obviously, if you want to give ammo to folk, engineer isn't the way to go.
Yeah that's a very good point, because I don't know what's going on with that.
I have definitely been able to put 6 mines down at a time, or 3 in one location then 3 in another and they have remained. Yet sometimes it only lets me place 3 and that's my lot. Never understood that.
No f*cker seems to do that anyway.
Hmm thats what tempts me to go Support. I like to help the team out. Engineer seems like a selfish task.
Annoyed I cant rack up mega points reviving people anymore. 20 points? WTF?
Engineer is selfish in that they are in it for points, but at the same time when they're the only ones that can take those c*nting choppers and jets out, I'm all for it.
"Scutch, why are you looking up in the sky all the time?"
"Erm..........jets"
