is it best to take it steady for 600 miles??
The proper bedding in procedure has been written about a few times.
Basically in the first 20miles when the engine gets warm you need to hammer it to the red line to get the piston rings under some pressure to them hone against the block.
This idea of being gently to the engine is a manurfacturers idea as if something breaks early on them if the engines going slower it wont break as much so repair costs are less.
mate im not been funny but i asked alot of people about this some engineers and 2 mechanics (each have 25+ years in the trade) every one said its aload of rubbish, the best way from an engineering point of view is to take it easy for the 1st few hundred miles then to build the revs up slow after you have done the 650mile as recomended drive it "normal" then after about 1000 drive how you like.
