Thought I’d revive the thread again- I bought FP51 FXD from my dad’s friend late last year and I’m working on getting it back to how it was in 2010!
The K-Tec coilovers and strut top mounts were all seized, so I installed my Bilstein B14’s and Pure Motorsport strut top mounts off my old black 172. I have also swapped in my original powder coated subframe and beam axle.
The standard sport alloys had been painted black, and the paint was all chipped, so it’s inherited a set of Speedlines (again from my written off black 172), and a set of big Brembo brakes from a 197.
The 172 interior has all been refitted, but needs a good scrub, it’s filthy at the minute, it will also need a good clean under the bonnet.
Next on the list is:
•Repairs to jacking points & rusty sills.
•Sort seat airbag looms.
•Re-fit all A/C parts.
•Replace the dodgy exhaust, probably with my old K-Tec system
•New lambda sensors.
•Change the timing belt kit.
•New windscreen & re-fit rain sensor.
I have attached a few photos of its current condition. I’ve given it a light machine polish with Meguiars Ultimate Compound and Polish. It definitely wants some paintwork in places.
