Clio TT 425 + bhp upgrade

  MERCEDES CLS AMG
Just ordered the Jabba sport steel conrods and upgraded forged pistons + crank for the sleeper. Gonna rebuild the engine over winter and fit an HKS large capacity intercooler as well as the old one is restricting the air flow + the intake temp is to high. The car is running 1.0 bar of boost at the moment ( 336 bhp ) but the turbo ( VF34 IHI ) is capable of delivering 1.6 bar of boost - the reason im upgrading the bottom end is the standard one couldnt cope with that sort of power. Looking into a launch control system as well to reduce wheel spin off the line. I will have to settle with 12.5 @ 116 this year but will see 11's in 2006.

I challenge you to make it 4WD, or rear wheel drive - that'll shave some time off the quarter mile ;)

You're NUTS! Love it!

Going's one thing.... what about stopping??!
Matt only goes in straight lines. Just like at FCS (I'm sure it was Matt who made a new set of lines though the cones at FCS).

  Fiat Coupe 20v turbo
Although to be fair I did'nt see anything apart from the 306 touring car overtake Matt at fcs...!

  Forester Sti, SC Clio V6,
Density ratio of 1.9!! - thats gonna need some serious intercooler and water injection and mist action on the cooler. What inlet temps you expecting - looks like your gonna get turbo air exit temps up in the 140 celcius range on an average day!!!
An 80 degree drop minimum for reliability and non detting without retarding to much.
Why not try a charge cooler intercooler hybrid - the chargecooler will take the sting out before the intercooler.
What clutch/gearbox you going for - this'll be nuts

matt weighs 100kg though

that's just his head too! lol

Spirez, yeah, it has LSD mate, dont think it would move now without it tbh... spin city. it's sooooo much better seeing it up close though, popping, banging and flaming as it just stays on the limiter! awesome stuff :D

Im upgrading to a HKS large core intercooler with aquamist - the air intake temp at the moment is 72 degrees !! which is to high - hopefully i will be able to get that down to 40 degress with the correct set up. Im running 440 injectors at the moment so no need to change them. Ive spoke to a few specialists about a charge cooler and they said dont bother - a large intercooler with an aquamist kit is better for the set up im using ( although in theory an aquamist kit is basically chucking water into your engine and a few people ive chatted with dont rate these ) The VF34 Turbo ( IHI ) can deliver at least 450 bhp at 1.6 but if i need to upgrade i will.
