Cliosport owners & standard wheels

  Clio 1970000000
Just a general observation that cliosport owners stick with standard rims or aftermarket rims of the same size. Seeing as most hot hatches end up with larger wheels than were originally intended, I wonder why CS owners haven't gone down the same route. I am well aware of the handling arguement.

For my 2 pence worth, standard is better IMO.

Tends to be more for the track useage/tyre prices from what ive seen.

Id go for 15/16s, depending on what looked better for the specific alloys.

The over-wheeled look is the preserve of teenagers and footballers. 17" is the maximum a Clio can pull off (excluding the V6), and even then the choice of rim can be the decider. Tyres are a huge factor. It's going to cost me around £400 to replace my front two. Makes me think twice about taking the shed on track. Although I will :D

Not to sure what tyres are recommended for the MK2 RS roy, but my brother paid 88quid(i think) each for 2 toyo proxes for his new MK1 RS. I thought it was very reasonable.

MkII RS is Continental SC3 IIRC. 235/35/19. Not cheap. There are cheap budgets available but you don't buy an RS and fit budget tyres. Plus track rubber is very difficult to source, and extremely expensive. If I got serious about tracking it, I would be better off going for a set of 18" track wheels :)

TBH, part of me favours buying a Clio as a track car and, back on topic, it would roll on 15s :)
