I've been in a low boost Clio at Donington and it was bloody rapid!

I feel 300 would be too much? Although the supercharged ones don't feel too bad at 300, more linear power i suppose.

I take it the box has a diff in?
I have to agree mate, 300 would be brutal and at that point where you're wondering what's going to fail next.

But on the contrary it's all set up for it now so it would be rude not to.

May look into seeing if I can get switchable maps on the ecu.

No it's an open diff from the meg.

Switchable maps would be awesome, that’s what I’ll be doing when i forge mine! I’d hate to go mental power and loose the amazing 250/240 map I have now, it’s a fantastic balance without causing it to be unsettled and too much of a handful... saying that there are a lot of places on the uphill sections of the ring where I’d like to be hitting the Rev limiter in 5th! (Another reason I envy your 6th gear [emoji23][emoji23])

Need to get an R26 box or stick a Quaife in that bad boy.

Even mine on standard power it transforms the car.

Could you not setup boost by gear with your ECU? That way then you get the best of both worlds and don’t have to switch maps by toggling through a boost controller etc

Ahh that's no where near a replacement for switchable maps is it lol. I'm not going to want to go on a track day in 3rd gear am I when it's wet lol. I'd want a switchable map so that it limits power as I'm going through the gears.

It is on a standalone mate, me221

Yeah basically ^

Like you can set it to 15pounds on 1st gear, 2nd at 20 psi etc etc

Just so you’re not lighting up the tyres in the first 2/3 years and that the car is gonna go like s**t off a stick without banging 25 psi into it straight away

My god I love this car!! Hahaha went for a blast to fill up fuel for Blyton tomorrow and check the camera height. Think it's in a decent position thank you Mr roll cage for the support.

Should hopefully get some decent footage tomorrow all being well.

Is it a diesel? Sounds like a pigeon

Unbelievable day.

Car performed amazingly well, I boiled my fluid many times and I definitely need new driveshafts due to it still bottoming out slightly but other than that the car performed flawlessly.

I got through a full tank which involved me driving there and back 160 miles so not too bad I guess. I have just got home and got one hell of a smile on my face. The power was just right for the conditions today, the weather was weak in places and managed a few slides but hell I absolutely loved it.

Got some pro photos on order and I gotta say, they look absolutely ace.

So guys..

Little update as to my plans before Cadwell at the end of the month.

I've removed the brembos and they are currently at a powder coaters near me. They're shot blasting and powder coating for £30 all in  I looked around at their work and it looked excellent so fingers crossed it holds true to my brakes.

I will be then rebuilding the seals up as I bought a kit recently. Excited to get stuck into that as it's something I've never done before.

Today I flushed out the old coolant and will be filling the new coolant tomoro. I removed the thermostat and flushed it through everywhere till it was clear so fingers crossed it won't go manky soon.

I also fitted a new boost controller today as my N75 gave me grief (apparently) on the rollers. I say apparently as it wasn't 100% certain that that was the issue.

I have a few other jobs to do....

Need to raise the suspension
Order new springs from pure motorsport. Need stiffer springs up front.
Weld the hole in my floor. No biggie but would be nice to get it sorted.
Nut and bolt check.

Omg f**k I completely forgot... I bought the photos from the track day!!! I will get them in here ASAP.

Hey guys,

Finally on the computer for some small updates.

Some pictures from the past few weeks:

Mapping when I had to change the rad super fast.

Sometimes you just have to plough no matter what the weather / girl.

Sitting well afterwards

20180428_160549 by dann2707, on Flickr

Then last week I removed some vital component for powder coating.

20180504_144542 by dann2707, on Flickr

I also tried moving that hub and f**k me.............the bottom ball joint was barely hanging on. Perhaps that was my vibrating issue on track or perhaps that was the secondary failure mode. tightened it up and raised the suspension so i'll never know now.

I must say, using my ex's tights was the best thing ever for coilover covers. Simply unsnipped the cable ties and peeled back and the adjusters are SO free. Good idea. Also really good for prancing around the house in when you're so so alone.

Then yesterday was ace. it involved welding which I'm always scared to do on my car.

20180512_124309 by dann2707, on Flickr

So my gym and old biking mate came around to try this cool welding technique. Basically, when I fitted the pedal box I used box section welded to the footwell, removed that and left some disgusting holes. This technique involves holding a piece of copper or alu behind the hole (weld wont stick to it) and allows the hole to be filled in. safe to say it worked f**king amazingly well.

Befores:

Afters, does need sanding back a bit more but the holes are gone so it's all good.

Another Sunday update. Had an absolute blast the last week.

Forgot to say I drove to work in Boris which was interesting. I bet I looked like a massive t**t suit / smart attire in rush hour traffic in the morning...

2018-05-20_08-59-11 by dann2707, on Flickr

So I got my brakes back from the powder coaters on Wednesday. Definitely the best £30 i've spent in a while. I'm trying to fathom how they even made money from it as they popped the pistons out, sand blasted and powder coated them and the finish is excellent.

This was before. @leeds2592 this is all your fault. He kept reminding me how badly painted they were you see... haha

20180428_111611 by dann2707, on Flickr

So that night I needed to get them rebuilt with the new seals but I also needed to go to the pub to see @James172C and @Panda sooooooo let me introduce a new fun game and it's called re-building 4 pot brembos at the pub

Yesterday I went to @leeds2592 's house to do some maintenance work on his car

That went really well. I'm hoping i've convinced him to get an ugga dugga after these absolute beauties coming into their own. Can't stress how much I love the combo of them together. One for running bolts, one for undoing pretty much everything you can throw at it.

Today I got a new phone, the camera is incredible so wanted to take some pictures of Boris. Met up with @James172C to show me a good camera spot and then we went to the pub after. Was a great day.

At the pub we had some interest in the cars, got a photo of some guys perving haha.

Load of pics with new phone incoming...

Today I repainted the driver and passenger footwell as I had welded it up recently so was full of.... no paint.

Also hoovered and cleaned the interior. Took some pics. Mega happy with it now

Looks great, bet it goes well now as well ? been out in a 230/240bhp clio turbo and it was plenty quick enough, especially when it hooked up in the dry, would have kept up with lot's of more expensive machinery
