DannyR's 3rd Supercharged Clio trying to be Epic Build Thread

  182, SQ7, Trafic
Last time I had one it ended badly lol! I should have one really!

If I get it running I'll scrounge a tank from somewhere!

So, got the EC1 all fitted but having had a few problems Bombers thread solved some.

The car will now start but it's pumping a lot of fuel through and won't idle. I changed the CTS wires around and that didn't solve it.

I've got the standard MAP sensor in which Bomber didn't and I've also got the VDO connected still.

Anyone got any ideas? Im going to call Matt tomorrow but any other ideas much appreciated :)

Have you fitted the m8 temp sensor? This is what was happening when we fitted the ITB's to ph1 as the wire was snapped...

  182, SQ7, Trafic
Yea, I said it sounded exactly like yours. Put the connectors around the other way too incase something wasn't right there!

Best bet would be connect it to a computer, if it's working it should be reading approx air temp, if not it will be reading something silly like -25! Which is how Matt noticed that was to fault on mine :)

Thanks mate, did you get your flywheel?

This EC1 is the exact one bomber had on his car, same injectors etc...

I know I need to blank off the VDO as far as bomber did, really need to speak to Matt and get the EC1 software

Well I needed one anyway, and Lewis didn't need it for a little bit and with the exact map I need it was silly not to really.

Turns out I just need to change my MAP sensor to a 3 Bar one.

MAP sensor turned up today but I have no effort to be doing anything tonight. I need a plug for it so I can wire it in.

Originally an upgrade for Cosworths of old.

Also finally got another fuse through so can now put one in line of my power cable to the engine bay.

I still need a proper box to split my power in the engine bay but can't find any of them BMW ones. Anyone know what model BMW they are from?

So in the space of 4 weeks it's gone from screaming N/A monster to a whining, blowing ****!

Got a 6" bit of loom from a mate for the MAP sensor so got that all wired up, got the laptop plugged in and all sensors were reading correctly so I turned it over. Was idling a bit high but if I block the ICV it wouldn't idle at all so I blocked it and put a smaller hole in. Unsure about this as I know Bomber blocked his so unsure how his was idling?!

Took it for a quick blast and f**king hell, it's quick. Feels as quick as my 330bhp one but I don't think it is, definitely quicker than my first. Boost is running about 0.55/0.6 bar which is spot on for what I want.

Just need to move my oil cooler and tidy up the ECU as its cables are everywhere at the moment. Then just need to bolt some bits in the engine bay for some safety (fuel rail guard etc...) if my silver wheels have decent tyres on I'll get them all on and ready so it's a bit more presentable, and then just a clean :)

Facking quick, you facking knowsit!! I blocked the whole icv, don't need any of that s**t lol. Although it was mapped like that so feck knows.

When you come to sell, let me know.....I miss the insane-ness

Yea that's what I can't work out, but it's idling fine at the moment so I'll leave it be!

It revs so fast through the gears, much faster than my old one. I've been revving to 7k as I daren't go higher and it looses power. Delivery is so smooth too so it doesn't feel quick but it is!

I don't think I'll be selling up for a while ;)

So this morning I;

Refitted oil cooler so it straight and not rubbing on the chassis

Wired light into boost gauge

Fitted engine cover

Fitted breather filter as oil was coming out of rear breather plate (only a little)

Tidied up the ECU and got that and the MAP sensor secured.

So I'm now going to put some fuel in and see how it behaves ;)

I will get it on the rollers when I know it's running right, will probably organise an RR meet for June as it will be over 6 months and everyone's cars have under gone winter work :)

End of June would be good for me (probably Dan & Rhys too) ;) As that gives us a chance after the ring to do a fresh service :)

Soo decent night out in it. Mate just got an E92 M3 and it's dead on even which I didn't think would happen. So quite chuffed with that.

Been popping a few little flames too ;)

Anyway here's the completed engine bay, will get some proper pictures tomorrow.

  PH1 172 (Track Car)
Looking good.

You turned that around in no time - congrats!

Any further plans from now or are you just going to enjoy driving it for a while?

  ph1 172
Looking very good and very much looking forward to see how it goes:)

You should pop to mine today so me a Scott can see it;)

Map is going well, I imagine it's due to running less boost so it can still handle it.

I think I'm gonna need new tyres soon too, grips like anything with the R888's on, unless it's a little damp then that's it!

Acceleration is the biggest surprise, it's ridiculous 30-60 is in about two seconds.

Definitely quicker than the first.

I'll probably be around Bury later on Rhys

What were the figures on your first sc'd one? I'll dig out my dyno sheets, I'm more interested in the torque figure

  182, SQ7, Trafic
Not a clue what the torque was, 200 sounds about right?! Was 237bhp though.

This one pulls so much harder!
