Detailed Clio 182 Replica

Last Friday I left my 2001 Clio 182 Replica into Ryan at DetailNI, Bangor, Northern Ireland for a bit of much needed TLC! I picked it up on Sunday morning in time for the drive up to Larne for the Ultimate Car Show... (pictures of the show are in other threads) IT took two days to get it sorted and looking new again!


Wash - AG Powermax
Clay - Sonus Green
Tar - AS Tardis
Wheels - AS Smartwheels

Machine - Menz3.02, Menz 85
LSP - BH Autobalm, Dodo Purple Haze

Inspection.....

Machining 50/50.........

Bonnet half and half

Ryans work is top of the class and I am over the moon with the transformation.. Photos dont do it justice!

Its really hard to believe that this is nearly an 8 year old car!!

Its been raining here tonight and im loving the water beading! Now i'll have to work hard to maintain it! Think i'll be treating myself to a load of new washing gear!

I should have posted a picture to remind you all of what the car used to look like when I first bought it.. Its cost a small fortune to get to what it is today... sounds sad, but its been fun, given me lots of happyness blah blah blah!! lol

Ryan does a top job and has a fantastic reputation over here in NI.. You should see some of the other cars hes done.. Doing my wee clio was a bit different from the types of car he is normally used to doing!

thanks mate! like I say, its been a great project.. I will never regret spending all the cash on it! All I plan to do in the future is fit some coilovers as the 40mm springs at the rear are grand.. but the fronts look pish!

Cool! Look forward to seeing them.. If you can, get 50/50 shots as it really shows the difference a proper detail makes!

yea ill try get top half and bottom half pics to show everyone, really does make a huge difference machine polishing, remeber and wash that thing the 2 bucket method everytime you wash it now or those swirls will be back very soon

Fair play, some stunning work in that thread. Still think the black gives the best contrast (or so it seems from the photos). Kudos to Ryan-the guys clearly a legend.

Absolutely.. Black cars always come up looking the best! pity they get dirty again really fast! lol..

Cheers Mate! its taken many days of work to achieve the full rep look!! but all been worth it..

I dont want to sell, but if I was to what would people value the car at? including purchase price of £2400 ive probably spend that again to make it a rep... Its now has nearly 72K on the clock.. Everything else is in good working order! The car has been loved! Im interested to see how much money I would lose not that that really matters to me. Its just so many ppl say its a waste of cash doing a rep!

I think when I sell mine I'll put it back to standard and sell the parts seperately, might be worth a shot when you consider selling yours

Thanks.. yeah a cup spolier would be nice, but wouldnt pay the silly money they are going for at the moment!

Yeah I thought about doing this.. only problem is I have sold all the standard parts to fund part of the new parts! lol.. Dont think I could be bothered trying to get a load of standard parts the right colour!.. If I decide to get a new car (ideally a real RS) I would prob just keep this as a daily runner.

Bear in mind there are a lot more non-RS Clios on the roads than RS, hence a lot more in scrap yards!

I know parts are a pain in the arse to find though. I wouldn't do it again but it does look brilliant

Very true.. There are loads of smashed non RS clios in the scrappies.. though I really dont know if I could be bothered with the hassle.. My whole interior would also have to be stripped out too! Ahh the thought of doing that gives me a headache!! lol..

Thanks mate.. for anyone in the know only the fact it has a sunroof and rear brake drums would give it away.. Although the sunroofs dont stick out as much on a black clio.
