Perl was for both tyres and trim, is it any good? It is there better which can do both, or is it better to get dedicated bits for tyres, and then trim?

Dodo born to be mild is available, that the one?

I don't like perl that much on tyre, it's good on a newer trims but find some of the newer longer lasting trim gels make life esier. Perl works well on engine bays.

I just think it's a better topper than the gyeon one. Although the gyeon quick detailer was slick as!

Cancoat is a great product, really bonds well to clean paint and c2v3 is a brilliant topper or standalone..

Have you tried Gyeon's Ceramic Detailer?

That's properly slick stuff and beads well for a few weeks after too.

No I think it was the original one. I used pure and then I used the QD, not the ceramic one.

I find perl is rubbish for tyres, I use Autoglym Gel.

I'm after a decent sting pre wash for cars that have definitely not been washed by a person who cares.

Looking at HDD Grime Zero. Also need a fallout remover that's decent and not mega dollar. HDD do their remover but out of stock.

Surfex HD mixed as strong as you want?

It's basically the original qd with the protection/slickness of Pure.

Autosmart Prestige XLS works well on proper dirty stuff, just have to watch out for it drying on.

G101 just leaves so much residue I find, wemnt proper off it over the years, Green Star very good and Surfet always good.

Can anyone recommend a decent/cheap cutting compound and finishing polish?

I want to sort the headlights out on the 5 series, but I ran out of whatever finishing polish @imprezaworks sent me with the DA. I've got some super resin, will that work for the final stage? Guess I wouldn't need cutting compound if I am using wet n dry 1500/2000/3000 then just polish off?

Ive always used the Carchem fallout remover. Not the best in terms of reaction, but the price is so good that it more than makes up for it. Ive got 25L in the garage

This needs a job doing before it's advertised so thought I would wash, de tar (TARDIS), Autoglym SRP and topped with Infinity wax glaze. Scrubs up ok for a 137k 12 year old car.

In tomorrows news I have an old Porsche to get ready to advertise for the painter I use. Then on the weekend a 64 Mini thingy.

Looks good. Infinity wax brought out a new glaze similar to triple.

Wouldn't something like Triple on a quick machine pad be rapid for these preps?

Ez wheel brush that looks like a toilet brush. And maybe the small one depending on calipers. The toilet brush one is the dogs.

I have tried a few barrel brushes but what i find works best is a empty toilet paper tube flattened so it is like a half moon. Wrap in a micro towel and spray a little detailing spray on it. Turn the towel to a clean spot for each wheel and presto your barrels are clean. Works for me anyways my $.02

Using Gyeon Silk which is fine but I need something else as wife's car takes up all the water.

Is the in2detailing twisted loop still the best?

Twisted loop in general is good so I imagine so. Think the klin one I used was always beat and that was twisted loop.

Have you tried much of the Autosmart range? Im after something strong for neglected cars and they have their tfr extra which I can get at what seems cheap ISH money. It is caustic and I do use jennychem caustic snow foam so I am aware of the pitfalls, although never really found much with the jennychem stuff that stops me buying it.

We use (I don't) a number of AS products. Nor do we use any TFR here, everything is hand washed after infinity wax snowfoam. Expensive but it cleans the cars and doesn't damage trims/worry about the sun too much.

As soon as it rains my cars look filthy and it’s so annoying. But if you are driving in the rain the water falls off and it’s fine.

As far as I know, its just the downside of having a 'beading' LSP as opposed to a 'sheeting' LSP.

As you've said, its where the water angle is so high that it 'beads' and then just sits there. There are certain LSP's that still protect whilst sheeting, but I really cant recall any - cos beadz r lyfe.

Interesting! Not sure if they recommend a maintenance topper to stop water spotting but in fairness dirty rain can leave that stuff. Especially this time of year.

Yeah I think CSL had issues early days from water staining but the idea was for the Exo to go on top which helped and they probably adjusted the product since then anyway. As for dust spots it's just part of it. Especially when it's dry dusty and then you get light rain where it doesn't quite rinse the dust away. Same goes with the rear of the car getting dirty quick because it all gets blasted to the back while driving and stays there especially on a hatchback.

I'm assuming you just typed it in the wrong order and didn't put EXO on with CSL on top?

Definitely did the right order (regardless of what I said just then!), can’t remember what that was but I checked and double checked when I did it. I do use their ceramic sealant after washing as well, although I’ve probably washed the car about 3 times on the past 12 months as it’s barely been out and used.
I’ll just have to suck it up by the sounds of it! Just checking if there wasn’t anything else I could do.

I live near the sea and the seagull s**t is a problem, I usually try to get it off before it gets baked on however I missed a big bit on the bonnet. I got it off with Bilt Hamber Touchless ok, but the paint is etched, how do I go about getting rid of that? You can see the worst bit next to the washer jet.
